"ugh. i hate staying home," bucky announced as the news played on the television. sam was over, but he'd have to go back home soon. they'd definitely still hang out even with all of this going on, but it didn't matter. they lived in the same building anyway.
they lived in apartments right beside each other. they were the only occupied rooms on the top floor of the building, and they were right beside each other.
steve shrugged, "i think it'll be fun honestly. nothing to do all day. we can just watch movies, dance to music, honestly whatever we want." then he smiled, "maybe i could start drawing again."
sam sighed. "i think i'm going to head home. let you guys discuss your problems about quarantine while i watch scooby-doo." he walked out, locking the door behind him.
bucky turned the tv off. "i hate not doing anything. i always have, but it's even worse now."
steve laid his head down on bucky's lap, spreading out on the couch. his calves laid on the opposite arm rest. "maybe you can find something you like doing."
bucky smirked, "you're the only thing i like doing."
steve's heart started to race. almost one hundred years of bucky flirting with him and he still wasn't used to it. "well, y- yeah. you could do th- you could do me. but, but i meant something else."
bucky chuckled, pushing his lips on steve's forehead. "i was kidding. i'll find something to do."
it'd been a week, and bucky still didn't know what to do. steve was drawing beside him as he flipped through the channels. he glanced over at steve's sketchbook. it was bucky, making him grin as he looked away. he found a cooking channel, giving him an idea. "do we still have those cookbooks nat bought us when we moved in?"
steve looked up for a second, his head tilting in thought. then he nodded, "yeah. i think so. they should be in the kitchen."
bucky grabbed steve's hand, pulling him off the couch. steve dropped his sketchbook on the couch behind him. "what are we doing, buck?"
bucky grinned as he pulled his boyfriend to the kitchen after him. his socks slid on the tile. "making sugar cookies!"
steve laughed, but didn't reject the idea, so bucky searched for the dessert cookbook.
"okay. we need flour, baking powder, salt, butter, sugar, an egg, and the vanilla." by the time bucky finished naming the ingredients, steve had laid them on the counter in front of him. bucky smiled. "great! okay, so now we have to mix it up," he grabbed a bowl and steve gave him the whisk. the other avengers pushed them to get a mixer, but they were old at heart. bucky measured the ingredients with steve's help and they dumped it in the bowl. they both took a turn mixing the ingredients into cookie dough. they rolled the dough into balls then flattened them, putting them on the cookie tray.
after there was no more dough in the bowl, it said to leave it in the refrigerator for a few hours, so the boys set the trays in there.
steve was scooping the flour into his hand when he saw bucky put his finger in the bowl then in his mouth. "buckyyy. you're gonna get sick."
bucky shrugged, "if this is how i die then so be it!"
steve rolled his eyes, throwing the flour in his hand at bucky, who gasped dramatically, "how could you, stevie?" he looked at the flour on his shirt. "i thought you loved me."
steve responded by throwing more flour. he grabbed the bag and before steve could tell him to stop, bucky dumped it on his head. "bucky, what the hell?" steve rubbed his face, wiping his (now very white) hand on his shirt. he groaned, "now i have to shower."
bucky smirked, stepping toward his angry boyfriend. "to save water, we could do that together."
"just to save water?"
bucky rolled his eyes. "yeah, why else?"
steve pulled bucky toward him, covering him in flour, too. "and we're just going to shower?"
bucky scrunched his nose up and steve couldn't help but think he looked adorable. "'course, stevie. nothing else to do in the shower."
steve's anger was gone. how could he stay mad at the love of his life? he leaned forward, connecting his lips with bucky's. bucky moaned, lifting him to put him on the counter, which was still covered in flour. he started to put his hands up steve's shirt when steve pulled back. "you're right. there's nothing else to do in the shower." he hopped off the counter and moved past bucky, smirking.
he heard bucky growl and pull him back. "no, no, no. you can't do that to me."
he pulled back. "c'mon, buck. i have to shower. we have all of quarantine to do... that."
"to do what exactly?"
steve groaned. "you know what. and if you don't, then i guess we don't have to do it after all."
bucky shook his head. "no, no. i know what you're talking about!"
"good." steve pecked bucky's lips before walking after him.
bucky watched him go with a soft smile on his face. then he muttered, "this is going to be a long quarantine."
