*tony was brought to the other avengers (and captain marvel), and found thanos*

"tony, you've got to keep a level head."
"i'm fine, rogers." he ripped his arm away from steve's grip. who was steve to tell him what to do when he just left like that? fuck the avengers. he'd kill thanos alone.

thanos chuckled as they neared him, led by iron man, of course. "what could you possibly do to reverse what i did?"
thor nodded to the gauntlet. "we could give that time stone a go."
thanos raised it and tilted his head. "what time stone?"
they were gone.
"WHERE ARE THEY?" tony flew forward, raising his hand. "WHERE. ARE. THE. STONES?"
"does it matter, stark? you have no one."
"i had him."
"who? you're alone, tony."
tony thought of his pleas. "peter. the kid. MY kid."
"the insect?"
"arachnid, actually." he lowered himself to the ground, walking closer. "he had his whole life ahead of him. college, marriage, kids of his own." he blasted him with both hands. "he deserved that much!" he was thankful for his mask that hid his tears. "tell me where the stones are."
"i destroyed them."
another blast. "LIAR."
"stark... he's telling the truth." natasha would know if he was lying.
"stark. don't kill him..." steve told him. still bossing him around, like always. still pretending everything was okay.
the mask came down. "shut up." then he turned the end of the suit's arm into a long knife. before anyone could react, thanos' head was on the ground.
"what did you just do?!" the new chick was in front of him, but he ignored her.
"he went for the head."
"i killed him. wasn't that the point of this whole trip?"
"he never told us where the stones were!"
"because he destroyed them!" steve was on his side now, as he yelled at the new girl.
bruce stepped forward. "you acted out of line!"
tony kicked the head. "he killed my kid, so i killed him. he doesn't deserve to live if i have to without peter." then he left, not waiting for them. he didn't care about the avengers anymore.
he had to make sure pepper was okay.
