Setting: Friday night-Cooper House B; Ace & Holly's room, a fight between them...

"I supported you when y'all said Ya wanted ta keep the kids-"

"I thought we both wanted to keep them," Holly replies looking heartbroken

"why can't y'all do the same fer me in want ta join the military?!" Ace snaps at her

"..." she falls quiet in shock at his question, "I thought it be obvious," she practically whispers out, "I don't wanna be a widow and single mother before I even have a chance to become a wife," she sniffles as she tries hard to blink back tears, "I love you Ace," she tells him with all the sincerity she has in her as her body starts to tremble with her sniffling tears, "I don't wanna lose you..."

"..." his tempers still fueling, out ways his regret of words

"Never mind," she mutters quietly as she heads to the door, "..." she stops at it as her hand grabs the handle & looks back at him, "maybe we were wrong," she says quietly, but just loud enough to be heard, "maybe we're not meant to be together-all between us is nothing but lust and two unfortunate, innocent lives were mistakenly made by two horny teenagers that are young, stupid and know absolutely nothing about love..."

"..." his anger still present & now mixing with shock from her words, he turns to look at her, "yeah," he states in agreement, "probably."

"..." she squeezes her eyes tight-forcing tears out-as she takes in a sharp breath through her nose before opening her sad eyes again & exhaling, "I'm gonna take the twins and go stay with my parents for a while," she whispers out as she opens the door, "I worked on your resume for you," she sniffles & sighs out as she calms down, "your uncle Georgie wanted me to remind you that he needs you to open the store for him tomorrow, so you should get to bed early for a good nights rest...Zin usually has a tea party every Saturday around noon, with your dad," she adds in, "still isn't talking, but we know she's making baby steps towards progress...otherwise she wouldn't have invited you."

"..." his anger drops at the last part of her news & only his shock remains

"Don't let her down by forgetting to join them," she finishes as she steps out the door, ready to continue leaving

"How long'll you be gone?"

"..." she just stares at him for a moment

"..." he just stares right back, waiting for her to answer

"You tell me," is her only response before closing the door & leaving

"Boy are y'all a dumbass or what?"

"How much did you drop in on and hear?"

"Enough ta know that y'all picked and chose the wrong battle ta fight," she tells him before becoming tangible & taking a seat on his bed, "Yer only a freshman in high school Ace in the hole," she tells him, "I only told ya ta think on the military matter, not just decide flat out-ya got another three years before anythin final needs ta be said...I wanted ya ta really consider if it's what y'all wanna do and that ya won't back out at the last minute cause once you sign up, that's it-there ain't no turnin back," she adds in, "the fight ya just had with Hollywood wasn't necessary at this point in time-"

"I just wanted her to know I was considering it," he sighs out, "instead of hiding it, her accidentally finding out and getting mad that I didn't tell her-but the argument was due to her automatically thinking I already decided on it," he explains, "then I got angry when she said she wouldn't let me join and here we are now..."
