*Fernando's suit & Hyla's wedding dress on the right, it's not all white, if you look closely, it's got a pattern to it-but it's what the characters can afford during the time period & the war.*
*Andante, Andante by ABBA-Mama Mia 2 version*

Setting: June 1847; the floor of the Alamo church, morning first light just entering...

Hyla's eyes slowly open with the light coming through the windows; that second night of seriousness in a much different way than the first night when Fernando backed away. Instead of a repeat of the first time, the second ended in the continued, mutual passion as well as almost every night after that & with their nights spent getting closer, he had finally managed to convince her that with the amount of money saved between the two of them, they could both take on less work. Instead of mounds of laundry, she does everything but that, making the other ladies like her a bit more while she partakes in all the other jobs. She looks around her surroundings from where she lays on the floor while Fernando is still out cold; but the peaceful silence soon comes to an end when the chapel doors come bursting open-waking Fernando instantly & in seconds both of them are surrounded by American soldiers. The light blanket starts to fall as Hyla sits up suddenly & all the soldiers either leer at the sight or turn away quickly, Hyla covers herself quickly & glares the nasties look at the remaining soldiers that are daring to eye her chest-causing them to turn away from the fire in her eyes.

Hyla is quick to dress & hide her futuristic stuff amongst her person before grabbing her clothes of the current times as Fernando is quick to do the same. Hyla situates the items in her bra, before eyeing the ancient weapons the men carry: .69 caliber smoothbore flintlock Muskets with bayonets attached at the end, rifles, glintlock & percussion pistols, double barreled shotguns, colt revolvers, and swords. She & Fernando are out numbered by the men, but given the antiqueness of the their weapons, she could easily disassemble them-the problem was getting them from the soldiers in general. While all her stored things in her now corset, consisted of her hand pistol, dagger, shrunken time gauntlet & some other weapons she managed to grab before leaving the base. She knows that Fernando also has some weapons on him, but she couldn't be sure as to how many or what types they were; the long range weapons would be easy to snatch up from them with their backs turned, but not so much the close range weapons.

In her mind Hyla calculates how many men & weapons she could take out & disassemble before getting shot or restrained by the other soldiers; Fernando, however, didn't bother calculating & just went into the fighting part. Upon noting this, she finds soldiers advancing towards her & she is quick to pull her pistol & dagger from her corset; she throws the dagger at one soldier, & shoots another without looking as she relieves shot men of their weapons. Once all are taken down, she & Fernando go through the pilfered weapons to decide what to keep & what to discard...

"We should pilfer weapons from the other side as well," he suggests

"How exactly are we going to steal a cannon?" She asks him sarcastically, "plus the Mexican side's weapon are extremely out dated compared to the Americans due to the fact that they bought the weapons used from the French whom no longer had use for them."

"Right," he mutters

"We'll each take two swords-you do know how to use a sword right?" She states & asks, "are you better at close range or long range? Cause that's how we'll decide who takes what weapons."

"Which're y'all good with?" He asks in response, "my father taught me how ta use my grandfather's rifle, I took fencin in high school-they actually did away with it cause of me..." she pauses for a moment, sensin but not seeing his unasked question, "I accidentally stabbed a kid-"
