* so, I usually like to put out multiple chapters when it's a holiday, but I somehow managed to miscalculate for Valentine's Day this time-so it's only gong to be 1 chapter this Sunday & I will try to make it up to you all within the next two Sundays with a 2-3 chapter publishing, depending on which of the following Sunday's I manage to get done by.*
* Beetlejuice & Lydia's family + Donnie Juice; left to right: odious the dog, BJ, Lydia, Donnie, Adam, BG, & Emily (baby Betty is probably sleeping in another room)*
*as time works differently in the neitherworld, this & the next chapter is what Bay's been up to while the chapters without her in it were going on*
Setting: neitherworld court, Bay addressing the court...

"Did Mr. Juice break the law?" She states, "yes, yes he did," she continues & people start to whisper, "but he did so knowingly, and before one argues that he's been here long enough that he should know," she cuts into the gossiping that's starting up, "let's keep in mind that this is Beetlejuice we're talking about," she restates, "his reputation he built up around here is one of slob, a prankster, a lazy moocher that would would do everything within his capability to remain jobless," she reminds them of his characteristics, "we all know what he's like-and given the facts," she states we know about Mr. Juice, "there is no way he would've read his handbook for the recently deceased or even the laws of the neitherworld," she explains, "which is why I find the confidence in saying that he broke this law without knowing he was breaking it...looking at his record," she continues, "his death was in thirteen eighty eight," she states looking at his file, "and from what I've found in city hall records, the earliest record of the neitherworld's existence is a year before his passing. Making the Juice family one of the oldest families in the neitherworld and as one of the oldest families within the neitherworld," she furthers, "they were here long before any rules were put in place, before the handbook was written-"

"Get to your point Mrs. Kripke," the judge cuts her off

"Of course your honor," she replies quickly, "my point, is that crime or no crime, rich or poor, the Juice family holds historical-founding family roots in the neitherworld and certain privileges or immunities,, she explains, "and that they are exemptfrom this particular rule."

"HUH!" A number of gasps come

"And I strong believe they should be allowed to continue to be immune to this law," she states, "due to the fact that each member of the family hasn't taken advantage of their privileges but have instead gotten jobs and became hard working, confirmative members of society," she explains, "and that now include Mr. Beetlejuice himself..."

"..." people start to murmur & whisper again

"But only because of the motivation to provide for his family," she tells all, "if Mr. Juice hadn't man the mistake of doing the crime," she states, "then not only would he not have this family that motives him to change, then he would still be a pest to the people on the neitherworld and wouldn't have gotten the gumption to get his shit together, take responsibility and get a job," she fights for her goal with much conviction, "I pose that they keep their status as long as Mr. Juice continues to be responsible, maintain a job and keeps his juicing to a minimum."

"..." all goes quiet again

"I've heard enough," the judge states, "case worker and Lady death or not," they start, "this court can not take your word alone...Juno, what is the work ethic of your grandson since returning to the family business?"

"I'll admit it was shaky at first," she starts off, "but since then, he's slowly risen to the challenge of getting out of his own way and I full believe it is due to his crime."
