I floated back down to the ground after Batman let a group of the team go, and it was relitivly small. He only choose people who could get around quickly and who were friendly looking, which did not include Superboy or Nightwing.
I sat back down on the couch and Superboy stood in front of me. "You can't sit on that couch all day, you know," he said and kneeled down so that he was eyelevel with me.
"Sure, I can!" I replied and reached for the remote.
He grabbed the remote before I could and smirked. I reached for it again, but he pulled away playfully. "You're gonna have to fight for it!" He suddenly stood up and ran away.
"Hey!" I protested with a laugh and I ran after him. He turned around the corner and I shot after him. We were both laughing and I finally got to him. I hovered over him and tackled him to the ground. We were both laughing so hard and I grabbed hold of the remote. But he wouldn't let it go. "Come on!" I protested while giggling.
He laughed back and suddenly slid out from under me and hung it in front of my face. I lashed out for it but he continued to run with it. "Come and get it, Jay!"
"Ugh!" I groaned still laughing. "You're gonna make me work for it?"
I narrowed my eyes, shot forward, grabbed the remote, and landed in the kitchen. "Hey!" he protested. I smirked in triumph, but he was determined to keep that remote! He grabbed for it, but I nimbly dodged him. Because I was a lot smaller, I was able to avid him easily. I jumped onto the couch and clicked the "on" button on the remote just as Superboy jumped on top of me.
"Ha!" I shouted. "I win!"
We were both laughing so hard and he rolled off of me onto the floor. He sighed as the laughing and giggling receded. "You know, you're a really fun person."
I smiled. "Probably because I've never had to help save the world before, unlike you. I was raised off of fun from the age of nine on."
He let out a huff of air. "Yeah, you're probably right. But, see? We're not THAT bad, we can have fun too."
I rolled my eyes and dropped a pillow on his face just for the hell of it! "Hey!" he said and threw it back at me. I caught it and he said, "Oh no! We are NOT starting a pillow fight! You will sorely loose!"
I gave him a look and said, "Challenge accepted!" I hit him hard with the pillow and ran away.
I heard him laugh and he threw the pillow back at me. I grabbed another one and spun around to the other side of the couch. I hit him once and then hovered in the air once more. He grabbed my ankle and gently pulled me back down. I hit him on my way down and then again and again!
"Alright!" he shouted from under the flurry of pillow attacks. "You win! I give up!"
I gave him a smirk and then flopped back down onto the couch. He sat next to me and we were both breathing heavily from laughing and playing around so much. He was actually a lot of fun!
"Superboy?" I asked.
"Yeah?"
"Why did Nightwing insist upon the fact that we stay apart?" I asked. "I mean, your temper isn't THAT bad."
He laughed. "Actually, it is. Well, it WAS anyways. Especially when I first starting out. You see, I'm Superman's clone, so I never had any childhood experience of learning how to control my inner rage. I've had to learn over the years to remain calm. Believe me, I screwed up several missions at first, but then I got better at it."
I pursed my lips. "Huh. Seventeen years and I'm STILL stubborn as all hell! Guess I got it from my non-existant father. My mom always told me that I was just like him, but she told me that he left before I was born. And then, my mom died and I was left with Cat Woman and Harley Quinn. Not the greatest combination of parenting, but I'm alright, I suppose."
He gave me a sympathetic look. "I'm sorry. You've lost a lot, huh?"
I nodded and shrugged, "Oh well! Life goes on!"
He smiled at me, and we sat there smiling at each other for a few moments. "What's going on in here?" Nightwing's voice suddenly asked.
I shrugged again. "Eh, just chilling."
Nightwing's arms were folded and he had an unreadable expression on his face. "Alright."
I lifted an eyebrow. What was wrong with him? All we were doing was having a pillow fight. What got him in such a fuss?
Superboy also looked puzzled. "I didn't realize that having fun was against the rules..."
I sighed. "He's so weird. Always seems to have a hidden motive behind everything. Not in the bad way, it just kind of leaves you hanging, you're not sure what to expect..."
Superboy turned to me and lifted an eyebrow. "How'd you figure all of that out?"
"We've fought several times," I replied. "You can tell a lot about a person by the way they fight. Plus, the guy's been chasing me for nine-ish years now. Know your enemy. Including their secret identities."
"Wait," he said and held up a hand. "You know his identity?"
I nodded. "Uh huh. And Batman's, and Robin's, and the other Robin, who well, you know. Everyone else I'm pretty clueless about. Let's just say information travels when Harley is telling you something. You tend to put the pieces together."
