CHAPTER 20 - MEMORY LANE

Talla's POV

We walked sa memory lane for the last time.

"Sometimes it's good to meet someone. Someone that will make you realize who you really love."

He smiled.

"Okay lang, if it's not me naiintindihan kita. I just passed by when you're broken but it doesn't mean I'm the one who will fill your emptiness."

"I'm sorry."

"If this is the end it must be a happy ending right?"

"Not all story ends happily." He said while looking at the path we are walking. Narinig ko na huminga siya ng malalim.

"Then, if we stop, we might find the happiness."

"If we stop, we may be happy – but we're not part of each other's happy ending."

I smiled. Now I know what he feel. I let go of his hand, he look at me na parang nagtataka.

"Can I ask one last wish?"

"Sure ano yun?"

"Can we pass by that way for this night?"

"Oo naman. Malapit na din naman 'to sa bahay eh." He answered na ikinagalak ko naman.

While walking I suddenly remember someone. I remember someone walking with me here even before the man who is walking with me now.

"Bakit mo pala napili 'tong way na 'to kaysa sa kabila?"

"Sabi kasi nila once you walk sa memory lane for sure you found the right one."

I replied then tumingin siya sa'kin.

"The thing is, I walked with you here para kahit na hindi ako yung ending at least I had a good memory walking. I had a memory with you. Sabi kasi nila, once you found the right one you need to walk sa memory lane para mag end kayo sa isa't isa. Pero sa'kin, even though alam 'kong hindi tayo ang ending ng isa't isa, yung memory lane ang magpapaalala sa akin na one night, I walked with someone treasure."

Tumigil kami sa bench na madaming naging alala sa aming dalawa.

"Don't be sorry.. it's not your fault. Promise pag natapos 'tong gabi na 'to we're going to be friends. Promise I'll never make things hard for you. Hindi naman lahat ng bagay kailangan mo ipaglaban, sometimes there are things na kailangan mo isuko hindi dahil pagod ka na kundi dahil you know that person will be happy hindi nga lang ikaw ang kasama. You're free."

I gave him white roses. Nginitian ko siya at umalis. Iniwan ko na siya sa bench habang hawak ang white roses na ibinigay ko sa kanya. Tumingin ako sa langit.

"You're free."

Kim's POV

Here we are sa isang lugar na hindi ko inaasahan na pupuntahan ko with kuya. We're all wearing white, the room is filled with white roses and customized things. C and V.

"Are you ready to let them go?"

"Yes." Kuya answered my question.

Pinakawalan ni kuya yung dalawang kuting na nakita naming sa daan kanina. I heard him na parang umiiyak.

"Kuya, are you crying?"

"Hindi ah." I laughed dahil nakita ko siyang umiiyak dahil sa pusa hahaha. Minsan talaga si kuya mababaw ang luha eh.
