Claire stared at me with wide eyes. Then her eyes hesitantly shifted over to Samuel who sat on my couch watching reruns of old spongebob episodes.

"So you're dating?" She asked. I just sighed in exasperation. She's repeated this same question four times already.

"Yes" I said annoyed. Claire glanced back at me then back to Samuel.

"Samuel?"

"Yeah?" He said looking at her over his shoulder.

"So...you're really dating Christian?" Claire asked, her voice tight. Samuels eyes widened. Where has he been for the past five fucking minutes.

"Well um yeah. Only if you approve though" Samuel told her softly. I shot him an angry glare and he turned back to the TV quickly.

"What if I say you can't date him?" Claire challenged. I looked at her in surprise.

"Claire wait-" I tried to say.

"I asked Samuel a question" she said sternly, cutting me off. Samuel watched her with soft eyes. Though his brows were furrowed.

"But I want to date Christian..." he said almost sadly. My heart took fucking front flips at his words. Claire sighed and glanced at me once again. Though she didn't say a thing.

"Fine. I approve" she said with a sigh. Samuel shot from the couch and darted over to her. He enveloped her in a tight hug as he squealed in excitement.

"Why do we need her permission anyway?" I snapped. Samuel gave me a stern look.

"Just be happy that you have it you doofus" Samuel scolded. I rolled my eyes but nodded reluctantly. They parted from their hug and Samuel made his way back over to the couch. Claire watched me almost nervously. Her body shifted towards me like she was about to give me a hug. Though quickly a look of insecurity-something I don't see in Claire often- flashed across her face and she shuffled over to the couch as well.

Should I talk with her? Maybe this was hurting her more than I thought. I still love her with all my heart, she'll always be special to me no matter who I'm with.

Claire gave weak laughs whenever something funny occurred on the TV. Though I could tell she was just barely paying attention.

"Claire" I said. Claire and Samuel both turned to look at me. Samuel looked curious while Claire looked pale.

"Can we talk privately?" I asked. Claire's brows dipped in concern and she quickly nodded. Samuel just looked confused.

Claire stood up from the couch and followed me into my bedroom. She glanced at my bed and shot it a disgusted look.

"Your bed isn't made" she told me.

"I can see that" I told her as I shut my door behind me. Claire strolled over to the bed easily stepping over the messes on my floor. She began to straighten out the sheets and comforter.

"You don't have to make my bed for me" I told her with a sigh. Claire rolled her eyes at me.

"Who else is going to do it?" She asked innocently.

"Me"

She scoffed and laughed to herself. She knows that was a lie. Granted every now and then I could be a mess, but for the most part I liked a very clean environment.

"So what did you want to talk about?" She asked carefully as she sat on my now made bed.

"You" I said simply. She eyes me curiously as I walked over and sat next to her.
