Alunsina's POV

"His.. what?"

I think my heart just stop beating because of what I heard.

I tried to hide my pain by smiling at them. I blinked twice as I stared at Clyde.

I don't know what should I do after hearing what Tito Clarke just said. I just can't.. process it.

Is he joking? It isn't funny, then. I'm just waiting for him to say 'I was just kidding' but he.. didn't.

He looks so serious right now so I don't think he is just messing up with me.

He is being damn serious.

And I fucking hate it.

All of the excitement I felt earlier just.. suddenly faded exactly right after I heard those words from Mr. Clarke Salvatore's mouth.

He's so scary..

It feels so heavy in the heart hearing that.. Clyde will be arranged in a marriage?

Gulong-gulo na ako. Hindi ko maintindihan. Bakit ganito? Bakit ganoon?

All I can feel is pain but I can still manage to smile at them to show them that I am.. strong.

"Clyde.." mahina kong tawag sa kaniya at mas hinigpitan pa ang paghawak sa kamay niya. I can see confusion in his eyes.

He swallowed hardly. "Dad, you don't know what you're saying—"

"Cut it, Clyde," Tito Clarke cut him off as he smirked and took a sip from his wine.

Clyde just took a deep sigh and looked at me with so much concern in his face.

"Let's go," hinila niya ako papalayo kay Tito Clarke. I looked back at him and I just saw him staring at us with his.. scary and deadly eyes.

Tahimik lang kami habang naglalakad. Pinipigilan ko lang ang sarili ko sa pag-iyak.

We went out. Nandito kami ngayon sa park na nasa tapat ng hotel.

"What is he saying, Clyde?" my voice cracked. Inilabas ko na ang emosyong kanina ko pa pinipigilang ipakita.

"No," he swallowed hard as he shook his head. "He doesn't know what he's saying," he said in a soft voice, trying to calm me down.

"No! What is he saying? Please explain it to me.." tears are starting to fall from my eyes.

"Shamiyah is.." he caressed my cheeks. He looked at me with his bloodshot eyes. "She's just the daughter of my Dad's business partner.." he wiped my tears.

I removed his hand off my cheeks. "Is she really just the daughter of his business partner, Clyde?" my voice cracked again.

"Yes.. please listen to me, baby.." I can see pain in his eyes. Halata sa mukha niya na hindi rin niya alam ang dapat niyang sabihin. Nakaangat ang dalawa niyang kamay, pinapakalma ako. "Don't listen to what my father said.. please.." pagmamakaawa pa niya.

"Please don't tell me that he's planning to arrange your marriage with that woman.." hindi ko maitago ang sakit na nararamdaman ko. "Please.." I sobbed.

The pain is just.. too much to bear. I don't even know what to say anymore.. what to do.

That's my worst nightmare.

Na hindi ibang babae ang kalaban ko sa taong mahal ko.

Kundi.. ang ama niya.

Ama niya ang kalaban ko.

I'm very scared to experience that most painful thing..

I suddenly felt so scared that I might just.. lose him because of his Dad.
