y/n was stopped by Jelfonzo while going to the Shoal.

Jelfonzo: Halt! I hast forgotten to include this item in your purchase!

Jelfonzo gave y/n a holster, which he put on. It was completely concealed beneath the suit, so if he had weapons there, he could draw them in an instant. The guns and the suit couldn't be connected, could they?

y/n: For your troubles-

y/n tipped 200 coins. He didn't have infinite money, but didn't think he'd use it for much else.

Jelfonzo: Thee have the most joyous of days!

After changing back into his normal clothes, (the suit was nice, but getting uncomfortable, and it made him stick out like a sore thumb. Like he didn't already), y/n went to the Shoal. He found a group of inklings at a dance machine outside it, and on the inside, a retro arcade filled with a ton of games to waste away your day. The inkling kids were loving it, or at least the decent amount of them that were there.

y/n looked over to an arcade machine that looked like street fighter. He wasn't very good at the game when he played it, mainly because there were too many moves to keep track of, but he thought he could get better waiting for 4 to need him.

So he played alone for a while. He was getting better, and having some fun, when a crowd of inklings went past him to a machine opposite of his, behind him. It was the same game, and he saw some people looking at him, then at the kid on the machine. He understood what they wanted him to do.

y/n searched for a local match, (getting to that menu, he just relied on instinct and knowledge about video game menus). And soon enough, the person across from him connected. He didn't know if the inkling on the other machine knew who he was fighting against, because he didn't look around at all to find out who. But, some of the crowd noticed. It was only a crowd of about 7 people, gladly.

The first match started. With what little knowledge he had, he tried to jump and kick the opponent. He easily dodged it, and sent a flurry of punches. Once it let him, y/n crouched and tried kicking again, to have it blocked. He successfully tricked him into punching, by getting up, but he quickly crouched down again to kick him in the leg. it hit multiple times. y/n backed away to try to do his special, but his opponent jumped and kicked him. y/n couldn't block fast enough. y/n grabbed him, but he escaped after a few seconds, then predicted almost every move y/n made. It went on like that for a few more matches, with a small portion of the crowd swapping to his view to watch the game. y/n had fun, and learned a lot, even though he was losing. He now utilized every aspect of his character, but the game was over. 0 - 3. y/n wasn't angry. He didn't have as much fun as the crowd did because he lost.

y/n went up to the inkling who beat him, and tapped him on the shoulder. He looked confused, and a little scared, because of who he was.

y/n: Good game! I learned a lot!

He seemed to not understand it, and was still a little confused. Someone there told him in inkling, and he understood. He smiled, and shook my hand. He said something in inkling, which the same person who translated for him told y/n "he said you did good and that you have potential!" They all went home happy.

When y/n arrived, he opened the door and saw Nate playing Red Dead Redemption 2.

y/n: Are ya winning, son?

Nate turned around and looked at y/n, with an expressionless face turning into a smile and an exhale.

Nate: This is amazing, n/n. People need to know about this-

y/n: Well, maybe we can get someone to start a video game company. Although, that would be really expensive, and I don't know how common the materials to make games like that are anymore. Probably not. The most up to date thing I saw in the shoal was a dance machine.

Nate: Well, this has lasted much longer than a Movie so far. And your culture is interesting...

y/n: Remember, this was a very long time ago, and crime isn't that easy to do.

y/n saw that Nate had a high honor score, and wasn't even a quarter of the way done with the game yet.

y/n: You just can't do bad things, even in video games?

Nate: Yeah. It feels bad to do bad things. And you might get stuff out of it, but not for the long run. It'll be there for a long time.

y/n: Just to keep you on that track, I heard you get a better ending the more honor you have. SO try to get your money from missions, ok?

Nate: Speaking of money, I noticed 1 dollar is extremely valuable... It would be like... 1000 coins now. 100 to 1000. I assume.

y/n:... Wait, didn't you say you would be doing missions until you couldn't anymore?

Nate: Yeah, I went home at around 1. I felt really tired. Until I booted up this game. I am completely immersed. Also, the clothing choices suck here.

y/n: Chill, it's 1899. They didn't think about some boy that was another species to pick up this game and play it, 12000 years into the future when humankind is practically extinct.

Nate: Okay, okay.

y/n: I personally like their clothing choices...

After bringing the briefcase and suit to his room, he freshened up and went to bed. it was really late, and he hoped Nate didn't stay up too long.
