I hope you like what I like... Remember that this is just a story I came up with in my head while trying to sleep last night, so y/n might not portray exactly who you are, and I have a range of knowledge that only covers so much, so if I have a question in my head, I will do my best to answer that question with my head.
================================================================================
You are y/n, a teenage human, who is walking with 3 other people, professional physicists, down a corridor to a testing room. Why is this happening? Due to y/n's mature and understanding nature, he made some friends at a local science department. With them all being interested in the same field, they grew to work together and lend each other a hand when they needed help with a project. This project however, was kept a secret. All y/n knew was that he was going to be the center of a test.
Dr.Coomer: "Sorry to call you in during these times. COVID - 19 has impeded our work on a massive scale, but I feel that this might be worth your troubles."
y/n: "So, Coomer, where am I headed?"
Dr.Coomer: "You are headed to a cryogenics lab. We're going to freeze you for tonight, maybe tomorrow to get some results on how your organs react to being in there for that long."
"Hold up doc, you do know you can't unfreeze frozen organs completely and just expect them to work again, right?"
"We know. That is why we gave you that pill and that drink! Those should keep your body from freezing up due to the chemicals that will run through your blood, effectively putting you in a hibernation state!"
y/n felt a little shame, he had forgotten to take the medicines...
"Finally, we might have a chance if an apocalypse ever happens. I hadn't been this excited since that experiment with Dr. Freeman back in '98! Of course, that one got cancelled because a guard persuaded our superiors that our generators would have been doomed..."
Surprisingly, you found science rambles like this intriguing, but something on the news on a wall TV caught both of your attention. It was only for a brief moment, even Dr. Bennet and Tommy (the other two scientists) were listening.
"This just in: high tides drowning beach towns and stranding thousands all across the globe. These unexpected patterns in weather are caused by unknown reasons, we'll keep you informed when we get more information..."
The groups focus went back towards today's experiment.
Dr. Bennet: "I can only hope the tide wears down. That's gotta be costly in water damage if anything, that's for sure."
Tommy: "Great. That Virus epidemic and now this?"
y/n "All we can do is pray to god this subsides. If you do believe... I know being scientists makes you doubt that and all..."
Shortly after a quiet walk down the hall they were in the cryogenic room. The room was rectangular in shape, with the door they entered through on the left, with the cryo pod near the back of the room, with a computer hooked up to it. There was also a desk near the door.
Dr. Coomer "Well, n/n, I suppose we should start this right away. "
You decide to tell him you didn't take the medicine, you had forgotten. He then gives you what you assume is a substitute, he says "that might be a little stronger than what we had you bring home, but it's the only thing we have here."
After getting in the cryo pod, you were ready to do some science! That is, until you heard a scream.
then there were more.
Dr. Bennet: "Quick! Coomer! Start the sequence!"
As Coomer quickly clicked on the computer and typed in various commands, he said: "What's going on out there?"
Tommy was looking through the glass door in horror, poor soul. You could see a wave outside the door of... Water? Was that water? Before relaxing in the chamber from a chemical. You were feeling sleepy. You decided to embrace it, hoping the test would come through in the end. The chemicals made you not care what was happening as you heard the cries of drowning Scientists. In your final thoughts before the slumber, you thought of all the talent being wasted as the wave filled the corridor. You were now in hibernation. You could only make sense of it once you woke up again...
