Authors note: Hey! I've been working on a short story for a while now. It's about an Octoling trying to kill Callie and Marie (See if he does kill them or not) in between the events of Splatoon 1 and 2. I'm really proud of how it turned out, (I don't know why it hasn't gotten any reads in the week it's been released 0_0 ) so check it out if you have some time! You can read more about it in the description for it's story. Back to our unregularly scheduled squidgramming:
narrator pov
y/n was getting close to the apartment and was about to reach the on the door, when Nate almost walked into him. He closed the door to the apartment.
Nate: Finally, you're here...
y/n: What happened?
Nate: So I got bored while you were out, and invited Marie over...
y/n: Uh huh...
Nate: I showed her some of your human video games, and she beat me in every game I played. No joke. Now, she won't stop playing this single player game, so I got even more bored. I was just going to wander around until you got back, but you're here now... so could you maybe get her to stop?
y/n: It's your apartment. Just kick her out.
Nate: That seems rude...
y/n sighed as he entered the apartment. He saw Marie sitting in his beanbag chair playing Hitman. He watched a little longer, and she seemed to be doing everything perfectly.
y/n: Nice...
Marie: Huh? Oh, you're here. I didn't hear Nate invite you over...
y/n: I live here. Does it look like I have money for a house?
Marie: Yes.
y/n: Ok...
Marie: I finally understand at least one of your agent name references. You are nothing like this absolute unit on screen right now-
y/n: thanks.
Marie: But I see how it could help you feel better about yourself.
y/n sat down in Nate's beanbag and watched. He didn't want to make her stop, because this was interesting. Someone who couldn't comprehend a 3D video game, now mastering it, and enjoying it to the point of not wanting to stop?
y/n: How are you doing this?
Marie: It's just natural.
y/n's thoughts: Woah. She is scary sometimes... but that's really cool. No wonder she's an agent.
y/n got a text from Nate asking if she was leaving, but y/n replied that he was watching her play the game.
y/n: So, Nate wants you to get off because he's bored.
Marie: Yep.
y/n: So, uh, I'm kind of on Nate's side.
Marie: Let me finish this level first.
y/n: Ok.
Marie took her time. she was definitely taking her time. She wasn't running, first of all, and she purposely revealed herself so she could waste time in combat, just to die, and start from her last save which was right before the combat.
y/n: Look, I know what you're doing.
Marie: And?
y/n got up, sighed, and went to join Nate in whatever he was doing, until Marie spoke up.
Marie: Okay, I was just messing around. Nate can use this once I'm done.
y/n: And I'm going to join him in whatever he's doing until then.
