y/n pov
It was raining hard.
The carriage was sturdy enough for the trip, though. The wind and water almost tore through the cloth protection of the hood, but we stayed dry for the most part. All of us sat in silence as the storm passed, praying for safe arrival. Behind the clouds, out of the sliver of my eye, the clouds had almost passed us, and the beautiful blue hue of the sky poked through. I focused intensely on it. Thought about the future that might come for me in the west as I heard a horse's shriek...
I stopped looking at the sky. I looked in front of me.
???: It's you or me, buddy. What are you doing staring at the sky? You thinking about your mammy up there?
The man's voice was tough and gristly. There were at least 50 people watching us, waiting for someone to make a move. The stranger readied himself. He was no good to this country and if I don't kill him someone else will. We fired at seemingly the same time...
The flash of light. That's all I saw, as bullets rushed by. Someone pulled me into the trench.
???: Soldier, what are you doing?
I zoned out just as the firing squad started to push forward.
???: Don't worry, it's not too rare. You good now?
I nodded my head with a serious expression and went to join the first firing squad. I stood my ground as I could see the enemy. One down. Two down. I saw a rush of lights as the breath faded from my lungs...
It was spectacular! The thrill of driving a Firebird down Miami's streets was worth every penny. Unfortunately, the police didn't like my joyride. It seemed like the fun would never end as this car glided around the pavement and the radio was providing excellent cover music... I chased them through every corner, every street I had memorized, all to have it come to a crashing halt...
It sure felt like a crashing halt, as the golf cart rounded the drive into our sunny neighborhood. A perfect day to take in the scenery here in Vermont; No clouds in sight. Everything was perfect. But then I saw a cloud. Quite peculiar and out of place. I looked at it for a while...
???: That's the strange thing about it, Abby. It can't rise this quickly, the clouds have a huge role to play in this, and I don't think it could have risen without a couple more present.
It was true, that cloud was a little strange, although every day was strange here. Data that doesn't make sense always comes up. After all, it was just some news footage of a rapidly rising sea line... Must just be a big wave. Walking down the hall for a while, I was almost at my station until I heard the screaming. I ran to every exit I could find, and when the waves had almost reached me, I found a door... but the 3 men in the room were focused on a pod, with what looked like a boy in it. I looked through the door. I saw his face. My face. Remembered...
And I woke up with a gasp.
Nate: You alright in there? You've been doing that a lot lately.
y/n thought about the experiences he just had. It really was surreal. But they quickly faded from his mind, the absolute feeling, but bits and pieces still remaining.
y/n: Not the best start to the morning... In your dreams, do you see yourself as other peo-... inklings?
Nate: I don't have dreams. Also very rarely when I have dreams, I might be a girl for some reason, does that count?
y/n: ... I'll take that as a no.

narrator pov
The day went on per usual, with 0 standing by listening to cassettes, while 4 and 2 completed the remaining kettles for the sector, but they all completed the boss kettle. The plan y/n came up with was to have 4 distract it, while 2 sniped the octocopters, and as a backup plan hide himself on the top of the rainmaker. It ended up being easier done than said as none of them took any form of damage whatsoever. Turns out 4 can dodge just about anything, and 2's shot is still proven to have 100% accuracy, and 0 is really good at sitting very still on top of a moving object. They arrived at Octo Canyon ready for the final sector.
2: 0, this one's a bit far down...
She was about to explain how to get there, but 4 did all the talking, being quick to super jump the entire way down, into what looked like an abyss.
0: Well.
2: I was thinking we could have Sheldon's-
0: No. Nope. That will not work.
2: I'll talk to Sheldon about it. (Again.)
0: Thanks.
2: (I told him this would happen.)
As 2 was about to super jump down, she told y/n:
Just try to find something to do until we have a solution and need you, okay? I'll call.
0: Alright, be safe down there. We're this close to finding Callie, don't stop now! Oh, also getting power back. It corrupts our save files.
2: We won't stop trying, y/n.
As 0 was left alone with his time and 2 had super jumped away, he weighed different options as he stared at the floor.
0's thoughts: I should probably pay back Sheldon for those guns... Nah... but he kind of needs it... Wait, doesn't he have a monopoly on all Inkling weaponry? He'll be fine... Maybe I could... Oh, I haven't been there in a while!
And so he set off to that one place he hasn't been in a while.
Authors note:
School and procrastination are all I have to blame for not updating to a regular schedule- in fact, I wrote this whole chapter from the hours of 10:00 PM and 2:30 AM! I am so tired, it took me 5 minutes to write this sentence. Have a good one!
