this whole thing shouldn't even exist in the first place, and I'm now just continuing it for writing practice.

so... where were we?
oh, right.
oh schiesse.
y/n is no amateur at sneaking! Or that's what he thinks... he can hear the footsteps coming to the door he just entered. He quickly makes his way to the other door, and sneaks back out of the room.
This "other door" just so happens to be right next to the stairs up to the bridge, so y/n moves quickly, not wanting to take any chances.
Finally a thought crossed y/n's mind, that maybe he should just seek peace with them! It was as simple as that! Probably. So, he tapped the man who was sitting at the helm. From the back, he looked pretty old, so it wasn't much of a surprise to see him asleep. So, he just tapped him a little harder.
y/n: "Sir? I'm uh... the one who wa-"
Old man: "GAH! Intruder! Intruder!"
He turned around and you could finally see his round face. You jump back because of the sheer size of this man's eyes, but still somehow manage to keep yourself somewhat calm and keep saying what you were going to anyway.
y/n: "I SEEK PEACE!"
Old Man: "PIECE! HE WANTS ME IN PIECES!"
The reason the Old Man wasn't really doing anything but freaking out was because he was calling for two people that came up the stairs, and they didn't like what I was trying to do. One was the person I saw earlier, this time from the front, and another person who just looked like a normal teenage girl who likes pink. The strangest thing though, was that their hair was replaced with tentacles. And of course their round faces, and the height difference, body form...
Okay, I should have known they weren't humans... this sort of makes sense with the flooding thing and all...
The girl in pink just started charging at you, so you easily dodged that. She seemed to have hurt her head running into the wall, so you decide it's best not to do more damage. You look up at the second person, the gray haired girl, who just looks at you as well.
Gray haired girl: "Why aren't you trying to hurt him?"
y/n: "I said I wanted peace, and he just screamed about me wanting him in pieces."
The pink haired girl hears all this and just sits down holding her head next to the Gray haired girl, who is staring at the Old man with a "really?" expression, and the old man just scratching the back of his head in shame.
y/n just takes a seat across from the two girls, and asks generally everyone in the room:
y/n: "So, uh, who are you?"
Pink haired girl: "Who are you to not know who we are? Have you been living under a rock?"
y/n takes a glance out the window down at the old testing site, which is mostly covered by rocks now.
y/n: "... yes."
Gray haired girl: "Well, this is Callie, I'm Marie, and this is our gra-"
Seemingly unaffected by him mistaking me for wanting his gruesome death, the old man proudly says:
Old man: "Cap'n Cuttlefish, at your service!"
He does a wacky salute.
y/n: "This is certainly a change of pace from ten minutes ago."
Callie: "Speaking of which, where were you ten minutes ago?"
y/n: "Well, you probably won't believe it, but I was cryogenically frozen for the time it takes, for a flood to presumably wipe out my entire species, an entire new species to take control of the earth, and grind down a human body to a skeleton using nothing but thin air after death."
Everybody was questionably looking at him, probably thinking:
Callie: "This kid's a liar."
So, to prove her wrong, he took off the mask of the suit he was wearing. Everyone's faces had a look of genuine surprise, as he tried to fix his hair.
Marie: "Are you... A human?"
y/n: "Please tell me they're not extinct-"
Callie: "They're supposed to be extinct-"
After that, y/n looked at the ground in sadness, and suddenly felt the weight of all of humanity onto him. The music, the many cultures, thousands of languages, most parts of history, not just forgotten, but never learned by the last surviving man. At least he could come back and scavenge for some more data...
Marie: "We're sorry..."
y/n: "You had nothing to do with it. None of you did. God just forgot to give Noah his ark..."
They seemed a little confused at this, but now that he thinks about it...
Could I be alive for some reason? The chances were too slim that this could have been chance...
y/n: "So how did you find me, and what were you doing out here?"
The fog had lightened up since they had been talking, and it seemed like there was nothing but ocean for miles.
Callie: "Well, Gramps wanted to go on a 'family trip' out to sea, so he rented a boat and took it out. After a very boring-"
Cap'n: "Hey!"
Callie: "... After we were done, we went to head back home, but gramps picked up a strange signal on the radar, and of course he just had to check it out. Next thing we knew, it was on the boat."
Cap'n "... And now it's right in front of us."
y/n checked the back pocket where, low and behold, was a radio distress signal stuffed into it. Upon further inspection, it has a sticky note:
y/n. I decided not to die. If I'm going to do anything, it is to help you be safe in whatever apocalypse is out there. I hand - crafted this swimsuit to keep you dry while heading to the surface, and this radio to hopefully get any government survivors to find you. It is tuned to a military distress frequency I was told to use in only dire situations- so please, I hope this helps.
Seemed to be a note from Bennet before he went crazy in that corner... even his last actions were done for me...
Currently though, the radio was scattering itself among frequencies, probably broken. y/n just set it on the table.
y/n: "... What now?"
Cap'n: "Well, you can't be seen or else there will be even more mobs than usual, and the public will probably freak out. So, we're going to have to keep you secret for a few days."
y/n: "I understand. My species once tried to orchestrate a raid on a government base because they thought that it contained aliens. Instead, they all just gathered around the gate and had fun, because the guards were ordered to shoot on sight."
And as they headed back, they casually chatted.
I'm saving that for next chapter. 1151 words. I should be doing math.
