I had just about had it with Owen. He was constantly poking me and talking, trying to start up a conversation. He was also flirting and giving me cheesy pick up lines like 'There' s 21 letters in the alphabet right? Wait, no. 26. I must have forgotten u r a q t.'
It was majorly getting on my nerves.
After yesterday, he had returned to the boy that I had heard so much about- flirtious.
It looked as though the birthday present incident was a one time thing, meaning that Owen was back to his irritating self.
Pretty annoying, really, as we were in the middle of a pop quiz and I was majorly struggling. Him talking really wasn't helping.
"Hey, Lila, I hope you know CPR, because you took my breath away," Owen said, adding a wink onto the end.
And I completely lost it.
"Just shut up, god damn it!" I exclaimed loudly. So loudly, in fact, that the entire class stopped what they were doing and turned to face me.
I sunk down in my seat, my cheeks flushing with embarrassment as I became the center of attention.
"Miss Cooper!" the teacher exclaimed, "Detention!"
I felt even more embarrassed at the furious expression on Mrs Reed's face and the couple of quiet snickers that came from my classmates.
I glanced over at Jin and Lucas who were sat at the front and looking at me with sympathy. Guess I wasn't going to get any help from them.
"Sorry, miss," I mumbled sheepishly.
Mrs Reed narrowed her eyes at me for a moment before turning around.
She was about to go back to her desk when she was interrupted by a loud laugh from next to me.
Instantly, Mrs Reed's head snapped around to look at the person laughing.
I did the same and scowled when I realized who it was. Owen.
He was doubled over in his seat, clutching his stomach while laughing loudly. His face was bright red and it looked like he was struggling to breath.
After a minute, he sobered up and after a small chuckle straightened in his chair.
"And you can join her, Mr Hale," our teacher snapped. It was obvious she was quite annoyed with us for distracting the class.
"Ok, miss," Owen said with his signature annoying smirk plastered on his face.
I frowned sightly, confused. Wow. How the hell was Owen so chilled about getting a detention?
Mind you, this was Owen we were talking about, I had to guess he was constantly getting into trouble so this probably wasn't anything new to him.
I watched as Mrs Reed sat back down at her desk and began to type on her computer.
I took the opportunity to sneakily slip my phone out of my pocket and go onto my messenger app. I quickly texted Mason that I had detention after school so I would be late home, before I turned off my phone and shoved it back in my pocket.
Now I just had to wait until it was time to serve my sentence.
LILA
I walked into Mrs Reed's room and looked around.
I noticed at the only people in the room were me and Owen, causing me to internally die. Luckily, I managed to take the seat furthest away from Mr Jerk face.
