Sariel POV
Nora and I watched from the sidelines as Ruby and Oscar trained in hand-to-hand combat.
Sariel: Man, Ozpin wasn't kidding. Oscar's picking up on this stuff fast.
Oscar landed a punch to Ruby's face. She held one of her hands to her face, but quickly turned back to Oscar. She was pissed.
Sariel: He's dead.
Oscar: Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!
Ruby Whacked him in the face, sending him flying back.
Ruby: Ha! Yes! I did it! Oscar?
Oscar: Why didn't you tell me?
Sariel: Who is he talking to- Oh right...
Oscar stood up and his eyes glowed momentarily.
Ozpin: Not bad, Miss Rose... but Oscar doesn't have the years of training that you do... or I do.
Ruby took a step back, wide eyed.
Ruby: Oh, well, uh. Maybe we should... take a break!
Ozpin then charged at Ruby. She tried her best to block, but she was eventually knocked down. She got agitated and got back up, running at Ozpin. She jumped and went for a punch, but Oz ducked and returned the favor with his own attack. She was knocked down again.
Nora: Ouch.
Ozpin: The next time you want to pull a left cross make sure you push off with the right foot... and as always, do be aware of any openings.
Ruby exhausted: Got it...
Oscar was given control again and he fell to his knees. Ruby ran over to help him.
Ruby: Hey! Are you okay?
Oscar: How is this so exhausting?
Ren: Your body isn't used to this kind of training...
We turned to look at Ren. He was mid-meditation.
Ren: not to mention generating a defensive aura on your own. It takes intense concentration at first but in time it will become second nature, allowing you to deflect attacks and heal your wounds. After that, you can begin focusing on your semblance... whatever that may be.
Oscar: Semblance?
Nora: You know, like your very own superpower! Everybody's got one, it's just a matter of finding it and mastering it!
I cleared my throat loudly.
Nora: Oh, come on Sara, you're an a-
She stopped mid-sentence as I glared at her.
Nora: you're... not from here. She doesn't have an aura and therefore, no semblance. Neither does (Y/N) but that's a story for another day. Anyways, Ruby can move super fast, electricity makes me stronger, and Ren can mask emotions.
Ruby: Don't worry, Oscar, you'll find your semblance. We just need to help each-other get stronger.
Oscar: Cool.
Ren: A common philosophy is that a warrior's semblance is a part of who they are. Some say your personality and character can define your semblance, while some claim that it's the other way around. Of course, there are still many who don't see a connection at all.
Nora: It's hard to know when you know sometimes. Ren's semblance was unlocked through intense stress.
Ruby: And mine kicked in during training one day.
