Ruby POV

Nightmare

The eight Jedi stood in a city torn apart by battle. We had our lightsabers at the ready and faced the Grimm hordes head on.

(Y/N): If we back down, the city falls! Keep advancing!

We ran towards the clouds of darkness looming ahead of us, slaying all the Grimm that tried to stop us. As we made our way closer and closer to our goal, I heard a faint whispering in my head grow louder and louder.

Sariel: Ruby, come on, we're almost there!

Ruby: Right!

I rushed forward, catching up with the rest of them. As the cloud of darkness was right in front of us, the whispering in my head was clear as day. I couldn't tell what they were saying, almost as if it were a whole other language, but I could somehow tell what the intention was. The voices wanted me to run, to run away and never fight again. I couldn't do as the voices told me, I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I did. We pressed on. Suddenly, however, a figure exited the dark fog in front of us. It was Salem. She held up Darth Saeris' limp body with her left hand. When she stopped walking towards us, she dropped him and put her arm down.

Salem: Come to die, have you?

(Y/N): Your lust for death has doomed you. You will die today!

Salem: You think so?

Sariel: We know so!

The eight of us launched our attacks from different directions, but before any of us could land a hit, she simply waved her hand in the air and sent us flying back. I looked next to me and saw (Y/N) slowly getting up to fight again. He stood up again and used the force to throw a lamppost like a javelin towards Salem. She used her magic to dissolve the lamppost in front of her.

(Y/N): Damn, this isn't wo-

(Y/N) then let out a gasp, slowly looking down towards his torso. He saw a Grimm hand piercing his stomach all the way through.

Ruby: (Y/N)!!!

He then looked towards me, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.

(Y/N): The Jedi... lead them well...

The Grimm arm then pulled him swiftly back into the dark fog. My heart sank as I looked back towards Salem, who had a slight grin on her face.

Salem: Your greatest warrior has already fallen. What more do you think you can do against me?

I stood there in shock of what just happened. I turned to the rest of the Jedi, and I saw Blake with a heartbroken expression.

Blake: (Y- (Y/N)?

We all looked towards Salem again. She still stood there, smirking at us. When we all turned to face her, she waved her hand at us once again. After doing this, I felt a searing pain as my body was engulfed in flames. I could hear my friends screaming as the smoke filled my lungs.

Nightmare ends

I woke up with a gasp. I realized I was still at the farmhouse. As I looked around, I saw light coming through the gap in the curtains. I realized that it was daytime and walked over to the window. I opened the curtains, letting light flow into the room. As I did this, I heard Weiss groan from behind me.

Weiss: Close the window.

I walked over to where Qrow was keeping watch to find him passed out with a wine bottle in the middle of the floor. I picked up the bottle and stood next to him.
