About: The book starts when Simon Kelleher dies of an allergic reaction during detention. At first, it is ruled as an accident, but when peanut oil is discovered in the bottom of his cup of water and every EpiPen in the school nurse's office has gone missing, a murder investigation begins. The suspects are the other students in detention: Bronwyn, Addy, Nate, and Cooper. Although I won't say who, since it would spoil part of the plot, one of the main characters is queer.

My thoughts: I picked this book up for the mystery and the characters, but I stayed because of the LGBTQ+ representation. I was immediately drawn to it because I related to Bronwyn, since I'm a bit of a nerd, and Cooper, because I share his love of baseball. But what I love the most about this book is that it includes people of all different races, backgrounds, and sexual orientations. It deals with problems such as mental health, unhealthy relationships, and peer pressure while also staying light and entertaining. This book is simply a must-read!
