About: The main character, Soledad, is shocked when she finds out that in order to join the history club at her college, she has to steal a fork from an elderly couple living in one of the oldest mansions in town. But Sol does it anyway, and gets caught by their grandson, Ethan. And while they get off to a rocky start, she and Ethan really hit it off. This book has plenty of representation, since Sol's best friend is wlw, the founder of the club is transgender, and one of the members of the club is gay.

My thoughts: There is a reason that this book is a Watty award winner. The writing is beautiful and descriptive, the characters are complex, and the plot will always keep you guessing. I loved Sol's character, especially because she never let anything—including her mother's deportation—stop her from doing her best and looking on the bright side of things. The only reason that I gave this book a 9/10 is because there were a few grammar errors that kinda drove me crazy. But it's still an amazing book, and you should totally check it out.
