About: This book is about three boys: Evan, Danny, and Jackson. It is set place in the early 1980s. Evan and Jackson are swimmers and rivals both in and out of the pool, while Danny is a loner who only feels at peace when he's working on cars in his dad's garage. After an unrequited declaration of love, Evan and Danny, who have been hooking up in secret, begin to grow apart. Meanwhile, Danny and Jackson form an unlikely friendship.
My thoughts: Even though there have only been twelve chapters published so far, I love this book! The imagery in the writing is incredible, and the pictures that the author includes to set the mood make it even better. This book is also filled with tons of hilarious one-liners and banter between friends, making for an exciting read. You can tell how hard the author works to write, edit, and rewrite entire chapters. The next update in this book is set for July 10th, and I'm already counting down the days.
