Despina Anseris never asked for her mission. She never asked to see the place she called home get torn apart because of her best friend's rath. She never asked to see...

A snowstorm was picking up as Poe and I walked at a fast pace back to the Carlac village, a few feet in front of the pilot as his snow coat was heavy. I wore no such protection against the cold; not even goosebumps appeared on my scarred arms that weren't covered by my tunic. My conversation with Ben had given me hope, and not even the "company" we were about to see would diminish it.
I remembered to stow Ahsoka's two hilts in the holsters resting on both sides of my belt before we reached the courtyard, five hooded figures standing next to my Master and BD-1. Ahsoka didn't seem phased by their presence as she paced around them, but a relieved expression came upon her face when she saw Poe and I return.
"I was foolish to think the mountain people wouldn't visit," she told me solemnly, giving her company a glance of disdain. Her blue eyes rested on her old weapons hidden safely away on me. "You didn't finish your lessons."
"Got distracted, Master," I apologized truthfully, giving the four visitors a glance of my own. They wore long coats made from dark grey and white fur that was cut jaggedly above their knees, and their hoods concealed their faces. The one in the middle pulled her hood back to reveal her deathly pale face, white hair, and striking yellow eyes. She gave me a smile, making sure I noted her sharp teeth.
"Despina Anseris," she ordered me, her voice deeper than I expected. "Your presence has been requested by Lord Eliz and Dorman... immediately."
"I take it from your tone that I don't have much of a choice." The woman's companion on the right threw his own hood back angrily, spurred by my comment. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Poe rest his hand on his holstered blaster.
"How dare you mock the great Futinis?" he sneered across the courtyard at me, leaving his line to step closer. "The great members of the Quad! You are nothing compared-" The man stopped mid-sentence, caught off guard from me lunging forward and holding the activated shoto lightsaber by his throat. BD-1 squealed at my sudden movement.
"Do you have any idea who I am?" I tutted, watching him squirm from having the white glowing blade so close to his skin. I could hear his heartbeat in my ears, his racing thoughts in his head as he tried to comprehend how "some girl" managed to best him. "You must be new. I'm Merri Laniso's champion, the Quad's prized weapon. I've trained under two great Jedi. I've battled Kylo Ren and lived to tell the tale. So tell me, boy, what makes you think that you can threaten me?" He remained silent, glaring at me with his pale grey eyes. I did the same with my own, and the woman snickered.
"Geralvin, stand down," she told him, and he returned back to his former position with a scowl. I unactivated the saber and put it back in place, and Ahsoka gave me a nod of approval. "Now that we've... introduced each other, it's time for us to go. They're waiting."
