I sat cross-legged on the cold stone floor of my room with my eyes closed, my jacket abandoned a few feet away so that my skin could feel the chilled air against it. BD-1 had powered himself down for a to regain his battery, knowing the cold would cause him to drain faster. The Quad members' words were echoing in my head, and I needed to speak to the person most likely responsible. Ben. Ben.

"You've never called to me before." I opened my eyes to see him dressed in his full Sith attire, mask and all. I waited for him to snap at the usage of his birth name, but he didn't. "I presume your Resistance asked you to."

"You of all people should know I would never put full trust in them," I shook my head, my voice soft and calm. "Dam- the pilot from earlier... he never saw nor heard you. We had other issues on hand."

"Ah, yes, your meeting with the Quad on Carlac." I kept myself from stiffening as he circled around me, watching closely for a reaction. "Did you really think I didn't know where you were, where any of those smuggler scum were? Your acquaintance Jevo Alris has been tracked since that attack attempt on Jakku; it wasn't hard to figure out how you knew of my whereabouts."

"They have nothing to do with this war," I kept my emotions in check, not even bothering to turn my head whenever he moved behind me. "They've never stolen from the First Order or even attacked them, yet you do it to them." Ren stopped in front of me, hanging his head for a brief moment. I heard the release of his helmet, and Ben's face was free of the black mask. "Why are you trying to kill them?"

"I'm not," he answered, and I couldn't sense a lie. "I'm the only one who knows of your location; I've known for quite some time. My Master, however, does not. All he knows is that they have some importance to you."

"Snoke," I spoke, and the name gave me the feeling of darkness on my tongue. "What does he want with me?"

"The opposite of what he wants with your little scavenger friend." Ben bent down into a crouch, dropping the helmet and leaning forward to stare into my eyes. I stared right back into his, remembering how we used to do this act all the time whenever we'd escape to Bogano. "He senses something in her, something he thinks not even I possess. I can't describe it... you understand, don't you?"

"I met her for five minutes, and I don't have a clue what you're talking about." I then remembered how she connected to Luke's old lightsaber back at Maz's... how she was afraid to accept the fact she was connected to the Force, as if she had reasons to want to deny it.

"But you do know, don't you?" he whispered, scanning my face as realization uncontrollably dawned on it. "Do you know what she did to me?" Ben winced, and I watched in horror as a long dark red scar grew across the right side of his face. It was just above his eyebrow and skipped his eye to go along his cheek and almost down to his neck. "That girl is no mere scavenger, and he knows that."
