|POV Logan|

I couldn't help but notice the pit of anxiety and worry that seemed to be forming in my gut as I made my way through the mindscape to the corridor that contained all of our rooms. On the left side of the hallway there was a light blue, a dark blue and a bright red door, each of them belonging to Patton, myself and Roman respectively. On the opposite side of the wall was three more doors, a dark purple one, a yellow one and finally a dark green door that seemed to have splatters of a red liquid-like substance on it? Again, each of the doors belonging to Virgil, Janus and Remus as you'd expect.

It could have just been my eyes playing tricks on me, or maybe just an irrational feel of paranoia that seemed to appear out of nowhere, but the colour of Virgils door seemed... darker than usual. For now, I just tried to shrug it off and focus on the bigger issue at hand, was Virgil ok? As the logical and objective side, I felt ashamed to admit it, but I was very well aware that I had some type of irregular feelings for Virgil that i didn't feel towards the others.

The type of feeling that made my heart rush just a little faster every time I spoke to him. The type of feeling that caused me to smile every time I noticed him smiling. The type of feeling that made me hold my breath every time I came down into the living quarters, hoping to see him stood there.

Was this what Roman would call...love?

Oh jeez, I didn't even notice that I was starting to zone out in my thoughts again. I quickly dragged myself back to reality and walked up to Virgils door, hesitating for a second before knocking on the door repeatedly.

"Virgil...? It's Logan, I just came to check on you and see if everything's ok? I haven't seen you in a few days," I spoke calmly, trying to repress the evergrowing worry in my chest, "can I come in..?"

I stood there patiently for a long, dragged out moment. No answer. This only helped my already growing suspicion of something being up with Virgil get worse.

"I'm coming in, Virgil," I spoke through the door before placing my hand down on the freezing cold door handle and attempting to push down on it to open the room. But Patton was right, the room was locked. The more I struggled to open the door, the more my fear became more apparent. I ended up having to take a weary step back from the door to compose myself, closing my eyes and taking a few deep breaths in.

"Virgil, I apologise if you're in there and just wish to be alone, but unless you give me any kind of indication that you're safe and well inside of there, I may have to ask Roman to assist me in opening this door, and you're aware of how... dramatic he can be sometimes," I spoke again, giving him one final chance to open this door himself or even just say anything in response to me. But... nothing.

Feeling defeated and ever so slightly panicked, I made my way back down to the living quarters. When I returned, I was greeted by the sight of Janus stood in the exact same place he was when I left & Patton and Roman sat on the sofa, exchanging reassuring glances with eachother. When the others noticed my presence, all eyes shot over to me in silence, waiting for my answer in regards to Virgils well being.

I took a heaved sigh in, "Patton was correct, Virgils door is locked and I can not enter. I tried to speak with him and ask him to give me any indication that he was ok in there but I got no such response," Pattons gaze became disquieted hearing my words, Romans looked more perplexed then worried and Janus seemed to display the slightest amount of concern. Seeing Janus actually show worry for Virgil of all people was extremely out-of-character for him, so much so I ended up taking a specific mental note of it.

"Roman," I continued, "would you mind assisting me in... opening his door?"

His eyes lit up at my request, "you mean I get to finally break a door down?!" God knows why, but breaking down one of his fellow sides doors had always been one of Romans most reoccurring ideas and none of us understood why.

Before I could respond to Roman and give my approval, I was interrupted by Janus' voice, "actually, did any of you consssider that Virgil was simply asleep? Because that clearly doesn't seem like the most rational explanation as to why he wouldn't respond? And breaking down his door would just be a rude awakening."

"Oh? Well what are you suggesting we do instead, Snake Face!?" Roman retorted defensively, clearly not wanting to give up on his chance to break down one of our doors.

"Wow, Roman, might I say that nickname was one of the most original i've heard you come up with in a long time," Janus hissed, "I'm suggesting you go for a less aggressive tactic, possibly lock picking, something I am quite skilled in."

"Oh? And why are you all of a sudden concerned about Virgils wellbeing? Don't go and act like it's a secret that you two despise eachother," the creative side spat as he stood up from his seat on the sofa. It was obvious that Roman only stood up to add more intimation to his words, after all, he was the second tallest side, only falling short to Remus himself.

"Is it wrong for me to suddenly be trying to better my behaviour towards Virgil?"

I glanced over to Patton as Roman and Janus continued their petty back and fourth argument. Honestly, paying attention to the argument was just making me frustrated because I know for a fact that Roman doesn't even care for Virgil that much, he's just so hellbent on being the hero that defends anyone he deems too weak to defend themselves. I know, without a doubt, that if Janus wasn't here and Virgil was in his place right now, Roman would be arguing with him about defending Janus.

I met eyes with the fatherly trait and we both exchanged similar glances with eachother. I was able to tell the arguing was stressing Patton out and i'm sure he could tell that I was just fed up with it.

"Ahem," I spoke loudly enough to gain everyones attention as I adjusted my glasses, "if you don't mind, could you two argue another time? Our main focus at this current moment isn't your bitter hero and villain complexes," the exact second I said that, both of them opened their mouth as if to object to what I just said, but I chose to speak over them and continue my statement, "our current goal is Virgil. Technically speaking, Janus' plan is the best to try as we do have to factor in the chance that theres nothing wrong and we're all just being paranoid. For all we know, he may be asleep. But, if it fails, Roman has full permission to break the door down."

The two sides threw eachother resentful glares, refusing to say anything more. That was proof enough that I had convinced them both. Finally.
