As quick as I could, I grabbed Janus by the wrist and lead him through the Light Mind Palace to the door that connected the Light Side to the Dark Side. I believe the door was originally placed here so that if any Dark Side tried to enter through, the light sides would be able to sense it immediately and do something about it. But that was short lived, after Virgil left us to stay with the Light Sides, a mutual
choice was made to give me and Dee rooms in the Light Mind palace. Of course, we still have our rooms over in the Dark Mind Palace, where we are most powerful, but we also have rooms here that we can stay in occasionally.
"Remus.. what is this about-?" Janus spoke cautiously as I finally let go of his his wrist.
"Janus.... you know exactly what's going to happen when we find Virgil," slight sorrow was in my voice as I attempted to make eye contact with him, only to be greeted by his gaze locked onto the floor, so far today had made me act so out of character from how I normally am, ick, "but we also know we can't avoid it as a whole... I just wanted to know if you had any plan at all for any way to get around this... issue."
"I'm sorry Remus... truthfully," Janus voice seemed fragile and hurt, making me realise that he had silently taken off one of his gloves. Not only did those gloves allow him to speak in lies, they also helped him conceal the emotions he was feeling. Without them, it was much easier to see his true feelings. "I-I know this is my fault because I kept arguing with him so much... a-and I know this is so fucked up but I just- I-... I wanted him back... and he wouldn't ever acknowledge us as even friends! After all we've been through!"
Before I even knew it, all of Janus' walls fell down. It was a rare sight, from what I can remember i've only ever seen him like this three times before at max.
"Tch, I guess some things really are just unavoidable..." I mumbled through a chuckle, pausing for a moment before launching myself at Janus for a hug, much to his surprise, "it's gonna be ok, they'll understand... hopefully. But hey, if they dont... then fuck em! Alright Dee? Plus, i'm sure we'll get an explanation from Virgil in due time."
If you were to ask any of the sides, they would all tell you that I am not a very good person to be giving comfort. I'd even bet that the only side worse at comforting than me would be Logan, cause of the whole 'emotionless robot' thing he's got going on. But its just, hearing that Virgil was gone acted like a slap in the face. I always saw Virgil as the little brother I never had. Well, of course there was Roman, my actual little brother, but my relationship with him was... complex.
After the initial split happened, he acted like I didn't exist, like I was a literal piece of trash. Which didn't really bother me in all honesty, cause being vulgar is my whole brand! But what did piss me off was how awhile ago, right after Virgil left us, he started acting like we were best friends, ignoring how he used to treat me. And of course, I didn't go along with it. Unless that bitch gave me a full formal apology, I wasn't having any of it!
"Thank you, Ree..." Jan mumbled to me before pulling away from the hug and slipping his bright yellow glove back on. Almost as if on queue, a noise pulled our attention away from eachother.
Stood behind us was none other than the logical trait. "Ahem," he fake coughed to get our attention which proved successful.
"Well, well, welll, look who it is!" I chuckled, "none other than Logan, the one and only, in the flesh!"
"Remus, Janus, listen to me," he glared seriously, his tone of voice matching the intense look in his eyes, "I don't care if either of you still hold a grudge on Virgil, I just need to get him home safe. Remus... i'm confident that you, of all dark sides, still care for Virgil, no? If I am indeed correct, then you of all people should understand my concerns. All I ask is that you don't get distracted and take me straight to this so called Reverse Room."
Jeez, that was strangely much more serious than I had anticipated. Me and Dee exchanged brief glances with eachother. I'm being literal when I say it's a rumour across the whole mindscape that Logan and Virgil had a thing for each other, but hearing Logans concerns just confirmed it in my mind. Logan definitely was into that little Emo Nightmare. Kinda cute to thing about, not gonna lie.
"Tch, yeah yeahhh, you got it. Me and Dee will be with you the whole time! Virgil means alot to us too."
"Well that is satisfactory to hear."
