|POV Janus|

In my whole time staying at the Dark Mind scape, this current situation probably took the crown for most high tense situation involving the minor sides. Not to mention, as Virgil previously spent quite along time as a minor side, all of the others in the village were still familiar with him. Plus, some of them were even close with him. So if they found out that he was missing, there wasn't a doubt in my mind that they'd blame the Light Sides. Even if it was my fault...

"Are you all well and ready to proceed? Stay close, don't get distracted." I warned the others, beginning to proceed once they all gave me nods of approval.

I knew I had nothing to personally fear for, every single Minor Dark Side wouldn't even dream of touching me. It was just the others I feared for. Well, excluding Remus, it wasn't that outlandish to think a Minor Side might attack him for the fun of it, but at that point I pity the Minor Side, Remus is never one to hold back when a fight starts. The amount of times I'd had to stop Remus from immobilising and killing Aggression was one too many for my liking.

Following the path that led through the village, I made sure to keep my eye on both the Dark Sides and the Light Sides behind me. Pattons expression was drenched in fear and worry while Romans seemed defensive, like he was prepared to summon his sword and start a fight at any second. Yet, Logan remained emotionless. My best guess would have been that burying and suppressing his emotions was Logans 'coping mechanism' of sort while in this place. And Remus just maintained his creepy smile, as always. Who would have guessed that seeing he hadn't changed one bit through this whole thing would be so comforting. At least, he didn't seem to have changed at all.

Anyways, it was fairly obvious that the few Dark Sides that were out in the village open right now were following us, yet staying at a safe distance. I had assumed they were all going to just watch until we made it to the Dark Mind Palace and then ditch it, but theres always that one person who ruins every plan.

"What are the Light Sides doing here?!" A voice from the small crowd that had gathered yelled out, gaining all of our attention.

Anger.

Welp, this was not a good thing. Anger was one of the only minor sides that was truly close to Virgil, the other one being Ignorance who wasn't anywhere to be seen. It would be my assumption that Ignorance was hiding somewhere and ignoring the situation playing out in the Village street. Virgil, Anger and Ignorance were so close that they still occasionally met up to speak after Virgils switch to the light sides. I'd seen it very few times, but still, sometimes the three of them would meet up by the path that connected the village and the door to the Light Mind Scape and just talk.

It always made me jealous. Why did Virgil still talk with and hang out with the Minor Sides but not me or Remus?! It was so stupid...But it was also besides the point right now.The fact of the matter was, because Anger was so close with Virgil, he was most likely to notice and question Virgils absence. Why would only 5 out of 6 of the Main Sides be gathered together?

"Is there an issssue here, Anger?" I turned to hiss at him, visibly noting the other sides around him slightly shift back in fear.

His glare on me sharpened, "It was a simple question, Deceit. Am I not able to ask those now?"

"I don't ssssee the sssignificance of asking that question, why would you bother to care?" I made sure to keep my tone harsh, causing some of the Minor Sides that were previously gathered around him to back off and disperse into the rest of the town to avoid themselves from the spot light. A few of the sides were glaring down Anger and trying to gesture him to shut up, but he wasn't paying it any attention.

"Oh dear, Deceit. I'm sure you already know the answer to that question, do you really want me to say it outloud!"

Well, that just confirmed my suspicion that Anger had noticed and wanted to question why Virgil wasn't with us. I simply stayed silent in response to him and intensified my glare, hoping he would take the hint to drop it.

The thing about being angry is it also acts as a confidence booster, allowing you to say or stand up to things you wouldn't otherwise say or stand up to. Which is more than likely, the only reason Anger was able to say these things to me without fear. Him noticing Virgils absence from our group only added fuel to his fire.

"Tch.." his arms folded against his chest as he let a loose chuckle out, beginning to approach me and the other sides. Roman pushed Patton behind him in a protective manor while Logan just allowed his eyes to follow the furious trait as he came close to me and turned his voice to a whisper, "If he isn't with you next time I see you, i'll have completely disregarded any fear I have of you or worry of what you might do to me. Remember that."

And with that vague threat, he walked off into town without looking back once. I took a moment to process that interaction, there was no doubt in my mind that he was being serious though. Anger's not one for empty threats.

"Janus?" A familiar tone snapped me out of my thought, it was Logan, "Is there an issue or may we continue?" It was no real shocker how goal-centered Logan was here.

I shook my head in disagreement, "theresss no issue. Stay close behind, and if any of them try and talk to you again, ignore it." I reminded them.

We continued on our way through the village for awhile, no other sides seemed to wanted to risk disturbing us. Everything seemed fine until I heard a call from Remus behind me.

"Uhh.. Jan-?" I turned around to the voice along with Logan who seemed inconvenienced by Remus' distraction.
But when turning around, I noticed something.

Patton and Roman were nowhere to be seen.
For fucks sakes.

"Where the hell is Patton and Roman?!" I exclaimed in a harsh tone.

"I dunno! I turned away from them for a second and when I looked back they were gone! Promise!"

"Well we can't just leave them in the Dark side of the mind! God knows what'll happen to them! For Gods sakes...we need to find them, fast."

"No-" Logan interjected, "we can't get distracted. If you two go to find Roman and Patton, I'll go on by myself."

"Logan, we can't just allow one other side to walk off by themselves while trying to get two others back," I rolled my eyes and tried to think before taking a regretful sigh in, "Remus, I'm entrusting you here. Please go and find Patton and Roman and bring them back... safe. I'll continue to take Logan to your imagination."

Remus seemed ever so slightly shocked by the trust I was putting in him but he gave an eager nod.
"You got it, snake man! Stay safe & if you see ANY liquid in my imagination, don't touch it." He giggled with a wink before turning and walking back through the town to begin his search for the lost sides.

Could this situation get any more complex-?
