|POV Roman|

Jeez, who knew the Dark Sides would be so judgey just based on the fact that the Light Sides were in their town. Not starting arguments. Not hurting anyone. Just existing near them. Just because we didn't get along didn't mean we don't deserve respect. Even if they were the bad guys, we don't deserve such a stubborn treatment!

I made sure to keep Patton behind me while I held a protective stance infront of him. Whoever the Minor Side was that was arguing with Janus, I did not take a liking to him. His attitude was so passive aggressive.

Soon enough, the arguing ceased as the seemingly hostile Minor Side came over to whisper something to our local snake faced side before disappearing off into his town again.

Cautiously, I started to lessen my protective appearance towards Patton while still making sure no other Minor Side was looking to start an argument. The things Deceit and the Minor Side had said to eachother confused me ever so slightly, but I wasn't about to spend time trying to decipher their strange words.

We continued on our way for awhile, being quick to brush off that strange interaction as nothing else seemed to be occurring around us.  Now that I thought about it, the part of the village we walked through seemed to be completely vacant of anyone else other than ourselves. I tried to reassure myself that the other Minor Sides were simply too scared to even bother following us at this point, I mean, there was no reason to complain about a quest going according to plan!

My attention was pulled away from Logan and Janus who continued to walk infront of us by a tug at my sleeve. Looking over, Patton was gazing up at me with slight concern glazing his eyes. It took me a split second to realise what he was fearful of, we were a significant distance behind Janus and Remus... was no where to be found. My eyes dashed around our surroundings before i spotted him, leaning up against a wall and conversing with another dark side. He was completely oblivious to me and Pat, as if he had forgotten our very existence.

I opened my mouth to call him back over, but a noise interrupted me. It sounded like a weak whimper, as if someone was in mild pain. By default, my eyes at first shot over to Patton to see if he was ok, but he was in equal confusion as me into the origin of the noise.

Another anguished whimper could be heard, this time louder as if the pain was increasing. The distress in Pattons innocent face was clear as he took a step away from me and begun to frantically try and find the source of this noise, presumably in an attempt to help them. Knowing how strong his sense of good and bad was, his instinct was most likely to assist in anyway.

"Hey Pat... we should probably catch up with Lo and Janus. Remus will catch up with us eventually," I spoke softly to him, trying to reach out and take his arm before he took a further step away from me and lightly shook his head.

"Ro... If someones hurt I can't just leave them-" he reminded me, continuing his visual search. I didn't even have the time to speak again to convince him we needed to hurry up before his pupils dilated in shock while he gazed down one of the village alleys. My eyes found themself following his line of sight, leading them to fall upon a strange and confusing sight.

It seemed to be a Minor Dark Side, hunched over in pain on the floor, continuing to let out occasional yelps and whines of pain & discomfort. Not to mention, around the Sides figure seemed to be a pool of some type of ebony black liquid. For all I knew, that could have been the Dark Sides blood that he lay hunched in.

"Hey? Are you alright?!" Patton cried out, rushing towards this seemingly helpless figure.

I rolled my eyes extremely hard into my head as I ran after him, as much as I loved Patton, he thought with his heart too much. "Patton! Don't just run towards random sides like that!" I called over.

It didn't take long for Pat to crouch down to the side of this unknown figure, mumbling multiple questions at the same time in his consistent fatherly worry. But despite all of his attempts in getting an answer from this John Doe, no responses were given. They simply kept up their nonsensical ominous cries of pain.

"Pat please! This isn't safe, Remus isn't with us and you can't just go round trying to talk to random Dark Sides!" I pleaded with him, placing my hand upon his shoulder and attempting to pull him away, "Janus was the one who told us not to talk with them. Just leave him..."

"Leave him in possible pain?!" Patton shook his head and attempted to push my hand off his shoulder while still giving the Dark Side most of his attention, "Roman I can't just do that, he looks helpless!"

"But Patton-" I begun to object again before an unknown voice interrupted me. The seemingly empty alleyway we were in begun to echo with ominous laughter and chuckling.

"Heh... helpless..? You flatter yet underestimate me too much.." A voice spoke, the tone sounding smooth yet baleful. My attention immediately shot over to the Dark Side on the floor who no longer seemed to be making noises indicating pain, and instead had a menacing grin painted on his face.

"H-huh..?" The fatherly figure whispered out in confusion by the sudden change in mood combined with the ominous comment.

Almost like an instinctive reaction, I grabbed Patton by his arm and pulled him up to his feet and by my side, away from the side infront of us. And almost on queue, as I did so, the side stood up to his own feet, the dark liquid that had previously spilled on the floor was now completely gone and the side showed no sign of being in pain anymore.

"Morality... Light Creativity, it's a pleasure to meet you both," the side giggled in an antagonistic way, "my apologies for thats strange display you just saw, it was simply the only way I was able to effectively get you away from Remus & Janus without interference."

"What on earth do you want, Dark Side," my voice spat as I held Patton to my side protectively.

A light chuckle seemed to escape the sides lips, " how informal of you. Just call me by my title, or more simply what I represent, Repression. Now, before I begin why I went through the trouble of dragging you two here, I don't feel it's fair to conceal my so called 'partner in crime', so lets just get that out of the way too. Regret?" Repression called out into the alley, causing a second figure, who had probably been lurking there the whole time, to emerge from the shadows. This side would presumably be Regret. What on earth could Regret and Repression possibly want with me and Patton? Who knows, but I didn't want to stay around and find out.

They stood side by side with matching glares, both completely dressed in black. There was no way in hell these two had good intentions with us .
