Hazel moves to Riverdale after her mother was murdered by her father, seeking refuge with her cousin Toni Topaz. When a certain tall serpent catches Hazel's eye, she forgets everything she believes and has to face her past and future all at once.

Hazel Sweet Pea and I had agreed not to tell anyone, other than Cheryl obviously, until we knew the baby would make it.
We walked into the school earlier than usual, due to Jughead calling a serpent meeting. "Hey guys, do you know why Jones called us here?" Toni asks, giving me a side hug. "No he just texted me" Sweet pea replies.
Jughead walks into the room with worry all over his face. "Jones, what are we doing here?" Toni questions. "War baby called my father and I from Shanksaw" Jughead states.
Some of the serpents share a look with one another. "Our old adversaries the Ghoulies have been released" The air catches in my lungs and my hand goes to my stomach protectively at the mention of the rival gang.
"Word on the street is they want serpent blood" he takes a breath. "Hazel specifically" Sweet Pea protectively wraps an arm around me and I lean into his body.
"They're gunning for a rematch, They want war" just as Jughead finishes his sentence none other than Reggie mantle bursts through the door. "Which one of you reptiles was screwing Midge Clump?" He barks.
"The hell is going on? This is a private meeting" Jughead declared. "I'm guessing it was you Sweet Pea" Reggie insists. Sweet Pea pushes past Jughead to meet face to face with Reggie.
"You ass, I'm with Hazel, plus I didn't even know Midge, but yeah I understand why she wouldn't want fleas from you mangey bulldogs." Sweet Pea countered.
Reggie and Sweet Pea then begin to throw swings at each other. "Sweet Pea!" I warn pulling him away. Jughead and Archie share a look before Archie leads the bulldogs out of the room.

The rest of the school day went as usual with the exception of making sure Sweet Pea didn't kill Reggie.
I was currently alone in mine and Sweet Pea's trailer when I hear a knock on the door. I put my book down and walk to the door. A frustrated Fangs walks through. "Hey, calm down, what's up?" I question.
"It's bad it's really bad, Hazel." "You can tell me anything Fangs" I try to soothe him. "It's me, I'm the serpent Midge was seeing" he blurts out. My eyes go wide and I take a step back.
"Oh my god, Fangs do you know how guilty that makes you look?" I ask him. "Yes, and Jones caught us on camera before the musical" The puzzle pieces fit together in my head. "You need to tell Jughead now, come on let's go" I grab his arm and my jacket, walking out of the trailer.
"I gave my tapes to the sheriffs office already, I can try to get them back" Jughead explains. "Please Jones, I didn't do this I swear" Fangs cries. I pat his arm before excusing myself out of the trailer.
I am greeted by Sweet Pea on the couch. "Hey Princess, is everything okay" he questions as I lay on the couch in his arms. "I'm just worried about Fangs, he was seeing Midge the night she was killed and Jug caught it on camera" I explain.
"Wait really?" He gasps playing with my hair. "Yeah, but I know he didn't do it, but the sheriff might, what if they bring him in?" I start to hyperventilate. Sweet Pea turns me around and pressed his lips to mine.
We pull away and my body immediately calmed down. "I read somewhere that holding your breath can help with anxiety." He says. I hug him tight as I drift into sleep, praying that tomorrow will be another average day.
