Hazel
The neon green light illuminates my face as I walk up the the bar. I came here knowing that my cousin, Toni, worked here. I only hope that she will allow me to live with her. The door opens and I grip my bag closer to me. Back home I wouldn't be seen five miles from a place like this. "sorry northsider you aren't welcome here." an older man says. "I-I'm looking for my cousin, Toni Topaz, last time I visited she worked here" I explain.

The man gestures towards the bar where I see my pink haired cousin serving drinks to serpents. As I'm walking to her I notice many people looking at me, I'm assuming it's because they are all wearing black leather jackets and I'm wearing a yellow ensemble.

"Hey Toni" I cheer, "Hazel?" she asked. She jogs from behind the counter to engulf me in a large hug, one that I have been needing. "I've missed you Hazel" she sniffs, trying to hide her tears. We were so close when we were young, we were those cousins at the family events. The ones that could never leave the others' side. "Me too T" I cry into her shoulder, remembering the reason I came to Riverdale. "What are you doing here anyways Hazel, I'm not complaining though" she asks as she pulls away. The tears begin to fall harder as I try to explain the last few days of my life to her.

"Hazel, of course you can move in with me, my trailer is small but I have a pullout" she added after I told her about my parents, or lack there of. She asks if I want something to drink and I reply, asking for a simple water. I'm not the biggest fan of drinking, or drugs for that matter. I take a sip of my water as I hear the doors of the bar open, a group of teen serpents walking in.

Toni smiles at them and grabs a couple bottles of beer from under the counter and handing one to each member of the group. I keep my head down so none of them try to talk to me. I was terrified to be in here. This was never the type of place I would hangout back home.

"Hey Toni, can I get a beer please" a deep voice from behind me asks. "Sure Sweets give me a sec" she says, walking to the back looking for more bottles. I turn my head slightly to look at the face the voice came from, gripping my cup tightly at the sight. A tall boy, around six feet tall, black hair slightly covering his eyes and a serpent tattoo on the side of his neck. He turns his head to look over at me, looking me up and down probably wondering what someone looking like me was doing in a bar on the Southside.

"Here you go Sweets" Toni says with a smile as she hands him a bottle. "Thank you" he responds turning around but not before scanning me again. A shiver runs through my body, a boy like him has never looked at me that way. I turn my head back to Toni and she has her classic smirk on her face.

"What?" I question. She just shakes her head and lets out a small laugh. "I saw the way you two looked at each other Hazel" she trails off "His name is Sweet pea, and hes a flirt" she adds on to her previous statement. "I know you value your innocence, I don't suggest getting into it with him if you want to keep it that way" she suggests.

I look back at him, he's playing a game of pool with the serpents he walked in with. One of them hits his shoulder and he looks up at me shooting me a small smile before returning to his game. I let out a sigh and turn back to Toni once again.

She smiles and grabs my hand as she says goodbye to the other bartenders. We exit the Whyte Wyrm and she apologizes for us having to walk alone at night.

She unlocks the door and we walk inside. I scan over the very simple layout. "You can pull out the couch I'll go grab some sheets for you" she says with a yawn. I nod, setting my bag down and walking over to the sofa. She comes back in and hands me the sheets.

"You can get settled in I'm going to bed, the guys are coming over tomorrow, its kinda Sunday tradition at this point" she laughs. I smile and kiss her cheek before she leaves to go to her room. I look down at the sofa, now bed and get my things set up and comfortable.

Before I lay my head on my pillow to drift off I look out the window, seeing many serpents laughing while leaning on their bikes. I smile to myself and lay my head on my pillow, slowly drifting off to sleep.
