Hazel Me: I'm on my way Cherry🍒: okay he's here Me: yay I can't wait to surprise him
The cab ride from the airport to Thornhill was 30 long minutes. After my dad's trial I was more confident than I've ever been.
My mom and I's abuser was locked up for good. I was able to look him in the eyes and tell him I wasn't afraid anymore. For the first week Sweet Pea and I talked every day.
Lately though he hasn't been answering my calls or texts. I decided to surprise him at a pool party Cheryl was hosting for the end of the summer.
I arrive at the gates of Thornhill, thanking the driver before exiting the car. The upbeat music flows through my ears and causes a smile to form on my face. I turn the corner to the pool- "Son of bitch".
Sweet Pea's eyes meet mine. I trail my eyes to his hand, on Josie's thigh. I shake my head and scoff, walking over to them. "I was gone for a month and you couldn't keep it in your pants" I argued.
He just looks at me dumbfounded. "Y-you weren't supposed to be here for another week" he stutters. "Yeah I decided to surprise you but I guess I should've stayed in Cleveland" I argue before taking out a few pictures from my bag and throwing them at him.
What were they you may ask? Ultrasound pictures, of our baby.
I walk away to find Cheryl and Toni.
"How could you guys not tell me about this?" I exclaim. They simply keep straight faces until I walk away myself.
This was the second time he had done this to me and not even my family or best friend cared enough to stop or tell me about it.
I was going to leave Riverdale, San Francisco was calling my name.
