Hazel moves to Riverdale after her mother was murdered by her father, seeking refuge with her cousin Toni Topaz. When a certain tall serpent catches Hazel's eye, she forgets everything she believes and has to face her past and future all at once.

Hazel I woke up to the smell of pancakes, shooting my head up to see Toni happily cooking. "The boys come over every Sunday to hangout, in this part of town you need to keep your friends close." she sighs. I know this lifestyle wasn't ideal to her, but they were her family and she was surviving, for her that was enough. I give her a small smile as I look through my bag, pulling out a simple outfit seeing that I wasn't leaving the trailer today.
As I'm walking out of the bathroom I slightly ruffle my hair. "Hey, Hazel, um these are the guys I was talking about" Toni smiles nervously. I noticed both of them from the bar last night. The magnetic boy looks me up and down. I blush slightly and smile, taking the seat next to Toni.
"My name is Fogarty, but you can call me fangs" The shorter boy says. I nod my head and turn my gaze to the tallest person in the room. "My name is-" "Sweet Pea, I know" I laugh. He just smirks and turns to talk to Fangs.
Toni turns to me and smiles, happy that me and her friends are getting along. "So, Hazel was it, what brings you to Riverdale" Fangs asks. Toni looks at me with a worried look and I just smile in return. I refuse to let what I saw ruin me.
"I just felt that I could be living my best life with my amazing cousin Ton" I lie putting my arm around Toni. She catches on to my lie quickly, understanding that I don't want to lead with the fact that I was now an orphan.
We sit around for a long time, talking about anything and everything. Mainly focusing on Toni and I as kids. I caught occasional glances at Sweet Pea during our story telling. He would simply smirk and get back to the conversation. He knew exactly what he was doing, he was proud of his hold on girls.
I simply shrug off the feeling I was getting. "and then Hazel said 'but Toni that was my favorite one'" Toni finished, causing a loud roar of laughter from all of us.
I can't help but feel intrigued by Sweet Pea. The vibe I get from him is different than anything I've ever felt. "Do you guys want to order some food" I ask the three serpents in front of me.
"Yes please, can we have Pop's" Toni laughed. I picked up my phone and ordered our food. "Can anyone come with me to pick up the order, I don't really have means of transportation" I explain with a smile.
"uh I've got my motorcycle, I can take you" Sweet Pea offers. I smile and thank him, grabbing my jean jacket. I say a quick goodbye to Toni and Fangs before following Sweet Pea to his trailer.
It is about the same size as Toni's, and just three doors away. "Here it is, hop on" He says, handing me his helmet. "okay but let me just inform you, I've never been on a motorcycle before" I laugh nervously.
"It's okay Princess, just hold on tight." he chuckles. I wrap my arms tightly around him, feeling nervous until we are on the road. It felt so freeing, the wind blowing the hair that wasn't under the helmet.
