Hazel moves to Riverdale after her mother was murdered by her father, seeking refuge with her cousin Toni Topaz. When a certain tall serpent catches Hazel's eye, she forgets everything she believes and has to face her past and future all at once.

Hazel It has been two weeks since I moved to Riverdale and I was starting to love it here in this small town. I decided to finally ask Toni a very important question. "Toni, h-how do I join the serpents" I ask my pink haired cousin.
"Hazel, its bad, I don't want you-" "No Toni, you are the only family I have, my mom is dead, and my dad killed her. I need family right now and, from what I have seen the serpents can be what I've been missing." I explain.
She sighs and says that she will discuss it with Fp and Jughead, hoping she can convince them to have a different initiation for the female serpents.
I thank her and kiss her cheek before grabbing my jacket and walking out the door. I walk three trailers down and knock on the wooden door. He opens the door smiling wide before giving me a tight hug.
Sweet Pea and I have been growing closer by the day. Today we planned to go to our spot on the cliff and hangout, talk about life. He also said that he wanted to see some of my sketches.
Oh, do you remember that weird feeling? Yeah, it still happens every time I'm around him. I feel safe with him, like it's us against the world.
I wrap my arms around his built torso as he starts the drive to our spot.
He parks the bike and we walk over to the cliff, in awe of the sight. It was the warmer part of the fall still so some of the leaves were still green.
"Wanna take a swim?" he asks, I look at him as if he was insane. "We don't have anything to swim in Sweets" I inform him. He smirks his famous smirk and takes of his shirt.
He is left in his boxers and runs down the hill laughing and jumping in. "Come in princess it feels great" I smile at the nickname and take off my clothes.
I jump in and bring my head up from the water. He is standing there looking down at me with a wide grin on his face. "You truly are adorable Hazel" he chuckles. I giggle with him, struggling to stay above the water.
Sweets was significantly taller than me so he put his arms around my waist and I wrap my legs around his torso, arms around his neck.
Our faces were inches apart. We both kept looking up and down, eyes to lips and back again. I kiss him on the cheek and quickly swim to shore and run up the hill, laughing the whole way up.
He quickly catches up to me and picks me up by the waist and over his shoulder making me giggle. "Sweets put me down" I laugh. He just shakes his head no and give my small butt a slap.
I slap his butt back and he lays me down on the blanket we brought. We lay down and look up at the clouds, making shapes and animals out of them.
"That is obviously a cat Hazel" he argues. "No Sweets, it's a cow!" I argue back to him. My head rests on his chest as his arm is around my waist. He was the only person other than Toni that I allow to be this intimate with me.
