Chapter 9:
"Look!" Katara said, pointing to a fish flopping around in the water.
"He is taunting us!" Sokka said, annoyed.
"Yes Sokka, a random fish is totally taunting us." I said, sarcastically.
"Hey, what happened to the fishing line?" Sokka asked, looking for the missing string.
"I uh made it into a necklace." Aang said, "For Katara, sense she lost her other one."
"Aughsedfasfd it's all tangled!" Sokka complained.
"Awww Sokka's maaaaaaaaaaad." I teased.
"It's not tangled, it's woven," Aang said while Sokka looked like he was restraining himself from throat punching me.
"Hey guys," said Katara, trying to ease the tension she had also noticed, "we can just go into town and find some more fishing line there, how about that."
Sokka just turned around and muttered to himself instead of responding so I decided to for him.
"That sounds great Katara," I piped up, "I'm sure Sokka would enjoy a nice stroll around town!"

Somehow our fishing line search had been side tracked by our discovery of a fortune teller. When we passed by the shop Aang had practically begged to let us go inside. Begrudgingly we let him go inside.
That's how we got here, sitting in a fortune tellers waiting room. I watched the seer's assistant not-so-subtly try to obtain the young monk's affection. The boy was clearly oblivious to her growing crush which made my smile softly to myself. Oh how young love was so sweet and innocent.
For some reason while I watched Aang and Meng talk my thoughts were pulled to the banished fire prince. I hadn't seen the boy in weeks ever since my escape from his ship. Thinking back to my last encounter with the fire nation I really wasn't excited to see him again.
'Though maybe in some twisted way I did miss him.'
I shook that thought out of my head. Of course I don't fucking miss him. He was ready to send me to the fire nation like a lamb to the slaughter. Though I couldn't seem to get that odd thought to leave my head.
I tried to bring my thoughts somewhere else. Thinking of the fortune teller was the next best thing. Katara currently was in the room with her. I had tried to act disinterested but that didn't change the fact I was somewhat curious, if not scared.
What if I went in there and she told me that I was doomed to a lonely life. Or she said I would die young and some fucked up shit.
Wow, I really was not in a positive headspace today. Maybe hitting my head all the time had caught up to me in some way.
I was pulled from my thoughts when the door to the fortune teller's room opened. The old woman and Katara stepped out. Katara had a blush apparent on her face that I mantally reminded myself to ask about later.
"Okay who's next," the old woman asked, eyeing Aang, Sokka and I.
"I'll go," I said standing up. I tried to sound as non impressed as possible, keeping my nervousness down. Why was I nervous? I didn't even believe in this shit.
She nodded and gestured for me to enter the room.
I entered the room, it was spacious and dark except for the fire in the center. She motioned for me to take a seat on one of the pillows so I did.
