I floated on my back, the bright sun beating down hard onto my exposed skin. The water in the pond was cold and cooled down our flushed skin. I could hear Katara and Aang practicing a few meters away, giggling about something.

I lay for a few moments, focusing on the noises of nature. The chirping of the birds, swish of the wind and the rustle of the leaves in the trees. Meditating was something I was working on, so that reaching the spirit world would be easier, and less draining if Kyoshi took over my body again.

As I lay in the water, listening to the noises of nature I began to hear something else. Thinking my ears were playing tricks on me I sat up. My ears didn't deceive me-

Music!

I looked around, wondering where the melody was coming from. That's when I noticed a group of people walking towards us.

"Heeeey river people!" A hippy man with the guitar thing said.

"We are not river people." Katara said, confused.

"Then what kinda people are ya?" The man asked.

"Just.......people." Aang said, also very confused.

"Aren't we all!" The hippy said.

I heard Sokka stomp over to us.

"Who are you?!" He said annoyed.

"I'm Chong, and this is my wife lily. We are nomads!" Chong explained. He looked over at Sokka's underwear, "Niiiiiice underwear!"

Sokka grabbed a leaf to hide himself, at this point I started laughing.

I could tell these people were gonna drive Sokka crazy.

After that whole physco with that crazy general and the avatar state, not to mention whatever the hell went down in the north pole, I was ready to relax.

Lily actually gave me some herbal tea, it tasted really good and took my edge off.

"What's this made of?" I asked.

"Some tea and herbs, one of them was a panda jade." She replied, while braiding Katara's hair.

"Isn't panda jade an extreme drug they give in healing centers?" Aang said.

"Ohhhh yeah." Lily said.

"Well that explains the edge." I said and I went to take another sip, Katara waterbended the liquid out of my grasp though.

"Hey!" I protested.

"Sorry Amara, but we can't have you drugged out." Katara laughed.

What a bitch honestly.

"Look, I hate to be the wet blanket here, but we need to get to Omashu now!" Sokka protested.

"Looks like someones got a case of destination fever!" Chong said.

"It's not about getting there, it's about the journey!" Lily explained.

"Oh......ma.........shu!" Sokka said slowly, to convey his point.

"Sokka's right though, we need to get to Omashu so that Aang can be taught Earthbending." I agreed, begrudgingly.

"There's an old story about a secret pass, right through the mountains." Chong told us.

"Is this real or a legend?" Katara asked.

"Oh its a real legend all right! They even have a song!" The nomad told us.
