Chapter 12
Kaden and I were together, lying down on the grass under this really huge tree we found by the soccer field. No one can could see us but we could see them.
"I'm serious! You better change my sheets. She probably has herpes or something." I joked.
"Alright! I'll change your sheets." Kaden laughed.
Now it was silent, but a comfortable silence instead of an awkward one.
"So I know why you and Noah don't like each other." I broke the silence.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
"Ok. So you guys are dating or something now?"
"I guess."
"You guess?"
"Yeah."
He chuckled beside me. "She guesses." He said to himself.
"So what should I expect tomorrow at school?"
"Homework."
"Wow, you're a great help Kaden." I rolled my eyes and rolled onto my stomach.
Kaden stood up and brushed grass off his pants and offered me his hand. "Let's go."
"Nooo I don't wanna." I whined.
"Don't make me carry you." Kaden threatened.
"Pfft, carry me."
Next thing I knew Kaden had me over his shoulder. I hit his back repeatedly.
"What the hell? Put me down!" I struggled to get out of his arms.
"Your efforts are useless." He said.
So, I stopped struggling and just let him carry me. I put my hood on and kept my head down so that no one would know it was me. Don't need to give anyone any ideas do we?
"You know, someone could get the wrong idea." I said into his back.
"Idea?" He repeated.
"Yeah, they could think I'm unconscious and that you're taking me to your lair to--"
"Ok, just stop there." He laughed.
"Can you please put me down?"
"Sure."
When I got down and everything stopped spinning I saw that we were in front of Jitters. Without any warning I ran in. I went over to the drink station and started pouring ingredients into a little cup. This was going to be fun.
"What are you doing?" Kaden came up behind me.
"One second." I poured the finishing touches into the cup and stirred it together. Then I gave the cup to Kaden.
"What is this?" He asked.
"A concoction." I grinned.
"Dare me to drink it?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah. 1, 2, 3, go!" Kaden downed it in only 3 gulps.
"Done." He said.
"Wow." I laughed. I took the cup from him and put it away.
"Your turn!" Kaden said and started pouring things into a cup. The only ingredients I recognized were sugar, water, and milk. The rest was a mystery.
"I bet I can finish this in only 2 gulps." I said.
"Yeah right. 1,2,3 go!"
I took the drink and downed it...in 2 1/2 gulps. I burped and giggled. This was fun.
