Khinei’s POV
If somebody tells you: “If you’ll be … cooperative.” It only means one thing: you have to cooperate no matter how insane the plan is.
“I don’t know about the word ‘cooperative’ you see I’m pretty stubborn.” I told Hermes.
“I pretty much gather that.” He said with his cheeky smile. Seriously is this how gods act these days? But I’ll admit he isn’t called a god for nothing.
Anyway, I just stared at him wondering how much trouble I could get into by ignoring a god. You can’t blame me I’m not exactly in a good mood to begin anyway.
“Hey, you asked for help and I’m here to give you that.” He said. “That is if you’ll cooperate.”
I stared at him for a while then soon said, “Tell me first what I need to know and what I have to do before I decide whether I’ll ‘cooperate’ with you.”
He stared at me amusingly with awe in his eyes for a while then said, “You remind me of…”
“Who? Don’t tell me I remind you of yourself when you’re young cause I’ll surely puke.” I said.
“Yup, you definitely remind me of her. Just so you know she’s the girl who broke my heart so don’t make the same mistakes as I did.” He said. His eyes are filled with so much sadness as he looked up at the sky a faraway look on his place as if remembering a painful memory.
I was about to ask what on earth he means when he changed the topic his voice seems to appear hyper to anyone who might hear it but I’m not fooled I could sense that he is stills secretly loathing inside, but as annoying as he is I don’t want him to return in his sad mode so I let him speak.
“So where are we? Right! Here’s a map to Medusa’s Lair there you’ll find her so when you’re at it could you cut her head for me?” He said the last phrase as if he was asking for a glass of water not for the head of Medusa.
“Excuse me. Time out. You want me to kill Medusa? The monster who could turn people into stone? Are you insane?” I asked stepping towards him.
“Yes. Yes. No. You’ll have to kill her unless you want to be turned into stone and spend eternity well pretty much like a stone.” He said staring down at me.
I just sighed it’s no use arguing to the god of thieves and babbling mouths, “Okay so umm next?”
“Also there at Medusa’s Lair you’ll find … something related to your past life and the weird things happening to you it might even answer some of your questions. Then after you got everything you need at Medusa’s Lair you’ll go at LOTUS CASINO whereas Zeus said you’ll complete your team and find out the location of the Fates.”
“Okay,” I said uneasily and added, “Anymore godly advice?”
A smiled played again at his lips then he said, “Yup, 1.) Avoid temptations and stayed focus at the quest. 2.) Be careful of whom you’ll trust a traitor will soon rise. 3.) Don’t make the same mistakes as I did. And 4.) I’ll move now if I were you monsters are on their way.”
“Did you just realize you left me with more questions than answers? And what did you- Wait a minute did you just say monsters are on their way??” I asked.
“Yup.” He said in answers to both my questions, “Oh and you’ll need this to heal Percy. I’ll go now if I were you they’re approaching.” He said as he hands me a vial.
I well glared at him in reply which he just laughed at so I turned my back and started running but he stopped me by suddenly appearing in front of me.
“One more thing.” He said.
“If it’s-“ I started to say but he stopped me by leaning forward. At first I thought he was going to kiss which is very foolish of me but he just tucked my hair behind my ear and tied a necklace around my neck.
“You’ll need it.” He said he steps back and disappears leaving me there with a wing shaped necklace, medicine to save Percy’s life, and more questions instead of answers.
