Elle's POV
I was watching Iza and Nic talk from a distance. I don't know what they're talking about which makes me kinda sad. I know those two were closer with each other since they've been together since they're 5 but i still feel jealous when they have their own. I started to think of some ... things when i saw Iza and Nic staring at the skies. I looked at what they were staring at when i saw with horror that there are like about a dozen Harpies, winged monsters with the bodies of birds and the heads and torsos of women flying towards our direction.
I started to panic so i looked at Iza and Nic to see what we should do. I saw Iza aiming three arrows at the same time to the flying harpies, even though they are far away Iza managed to hit her three targets with deadly accuracy (literally) and three of them fall into the ground into a pile of ashes. Even though she killed three the Harpies starts increasing in number replacing every one she just killed.
I took out my twin daggers and run towards Iza and Nic. Iza is still shooting and killing the harpies who are advancing fast. I look at Nic and i saw that in her eyes that she is thinking of a way to defeat this sea of endless harpies.
"So, thought of a plan yet?" i asked.
"nope." she shook her head which surprised me since she is always prepared with a plan but right now i guess she's also feeling panic. She turned and said to Iza (who is still shooting and killing as many harpies as she can before they got close to us) then said, "Try to kill as many as you can before they reached us."
"I'm trying they're just too many we need a plan or otherwise runaway from here." she said her voice slightly trembling for she's focusing so hard with killing the harpies i'm surprise she could even answer us back.
"Where will we go? And besides we can't leave Jude behind." Nic said her eyes still gleaming as she searches for a way to defeat the Harpies who are just a few feet away.
"Jude may never return if he sees this." Iza and I said at the same time which probably added to the offense Nic felt with our statement.
She was about to say something when something very loud screeched. I had just enough time to look up and saw a Harpy charged down at me. I reflexively block its hit with one of my daggers while i use the other on to stab it therefore turning it into a pile of ashes. But that wasn't enough for i looked around (while still fighting and stabbing other harpies) and saw that iza is still shooting up for there are still many harpies while Nic is protecting her from the Harpies that are near them.
"Why are you so many? What do you want?" i asked a Harpy whose trying to claw at my face with no luck since i manage to block it by my daggers. The Harpy growled at me in response exposing its very bad breath and sharp teeth.
"You have got to brush your teeth." i said with disgust. The Harpy doesn't seem to like this reply for it retreated its hand preparing for a final blow but before it could do it i stabbed it with my dagger an it turned into ashes.
After a while of blocking and stabbing the Harpies seem to lessen in number not that i'm complaining for i'm starting to feel tired.
I looked at Iza and Elle to see that there are only a few harpies left. Nic is still fighting the Harpies near them while Iza shoots arrows then i saw from behind Iza a Harpy approaching her. Since she is unguarded and Nic hands are full (literally) I charged at the harpy i managed to kill it but suddenly i felt blinding pain in my shoulder due to a Harpy that clawed at my shoulder. I fell at the ground and i heard Iza and Nic screamed, "NO!!"
I don't know what just happened but after a while the screaching of the Harpies died down and i realized Iza and nic must've killed them all, though i don't know how they did that probably out of anger.
Iza rushed at my side to lift me up and examine my wound. She might not be a born healer, which is weird for a daughter of Apollo, but her hanging around with her half sister and brothers probably gave her some knowledge to healing.
"What happened?" i asked her. I saw that she is somehow glowing but she didn't acknowledge it for we suddenly heard an explosion. Iza's beautiful face starts turning white as a ghost.
I try to lift myself up which only cause so much pain but i have to see what happened bu before i could do that Iza said her voice weird and grave, "Nic's gone. She's been kidnapped..."
With that i fainted.
