Elle's POV
I woke up with a start.
"Are you all right?" Iza asked as she leaned forward and wiped a handkerchief at my sweating forehead.
"Yeah. Why did you ask." i said my voice kinda weak as i take the hanky from her and wiped myself.
"Well for one you were screaming while you're sleeping like you're having some kind of nightmare." She said as she stared at me.
I frowned for i remember what i dreamt about,
I was alone in a building that is on fire. I saw a glowing light and i followed it.
Then i wake up in a hospital. The nurses told me my father's dead...
Then... i suddenly found myself getting wounded and hearing Iza say "Nic's kidnapped."
I screamed NO! then... i woke up.
"Nic's missing!" i said well more like shouted.
"Yeah." Iza said looking away for her eyes starts to fill with tears.
I went and hugged her, "Don't worry we'll find her." i said trying to assure her after all i'm older than her and she's my best friend.
She nodded then wiped the tears, "I was waiting..."
"For me to wake up?" i asked.
"Yeah and ... was wondering if..." she started to say but i finished for her, "If Jude will return." i said blankly. i don't know, but i know i've always hated Jude for some reason.
"Nic took the risk and waited for him guess we should wait for him too." she said though her voice is quite uncertain.
I know Jude likes Iza but Iza never liked him back but now seeing her waiting for him make me rethink that thought.
"What about Nic?" i asked.
"I sent out deers to find her and Jude while you were sleeping." she said.
I stared at her for a while still hugging her then said, "What are we going to do now?"
As if answering my question a deer appeared. It went to our direction and nuzzled Iza's neck. I felt Iza suddenly froze. She nods at the deer and stood up. She helped me up too.
"We've gotta go Elle." she said.
"Why?" i asked but she didn't answered she went and gather her things in the corner went out of the tent. I grabbed my own things too and went out too. I saw Iza feeding the deer and it started running off.
"Come on we've got to follow it before it got out of sight!" she said and snapped her fingers instantly folding the tent. I grabbed it and together we ran after the deer.
We turned around many trees and i have a feeling we're deep in the forest now. We kept moving until i saw bushes blocking the path. But that didn't stop Iza and the deer who continued on. Iza seeing that i've stopped moving grabbed my arm which caused me to start walking again.
Iza took out her dagger and cleared the way as best as she could. Seeing that my weapons are more suited for this job i took them out and took the lead.
After a while of slashing bushes and feeling like a gardener i saw a lake. This caused me to have more energy so i quickly reached the lake.
I was so thirsty i ran for it then i tripped over something... More like someONE.
I looked back and saw a man lying like a statue on the ground. I screamed which caused Iza to instantly take out her bow and arrow to aim a shot at the man but before she could release the arrow the man stood up.
"Woah, Iza, don't kill me just yet." he said his hands raised up in a sign of surrender.
But Iza didn't lower down her bow and arrow she just asked, "Where were you when the harpies attacked?"
"What?What do you mean." he asked.
I started walking towards Iza so i could face Jude then i said, "You know what we mean. You couldn't have not noticed those harpies- dozens of them- screeching as they attack us."
"Honestly I don't know. I went here to find firewood and i found a pegasus instead." he said pointing at a white sleeping pegasus just a few feet away.
"Why is it asleep?" Iza and I asked at the same time.
"I thought that it will be easier for us to travel with a pegasus by our side so i tried to tame it." he said.
Iza lookedlike she didn't believe him i too so i said, "You're crazy no one could tame a wild pegasus unless you're a child of Poseidon, Zeus and Artemis."
"Well i wasn't thinking straight... Anyway i took out the sleeping powder and tried to make the pegasus go to sleep it worked but i got affected too." he said i sighed and lower my guard down and Iza lowered her weapons. Jude added, "Oh you make a good alarm clock Elle."
"Haha." i said with a smirk.
"Oh by the way where is Nic?" Jude asked.
I felt cold again when i remembered she is still missing but i answered him, "She got kidnapped when the Harpies attacked us."
"Oh." he said his voice full of sincere regret. But he is a son of Hermes so maybe he is just a good actor.
"Let's get in the pagasus it's about to wake up." Iza said interrupting the silence.
"But it's still untamed." I said.
Iza just didn't mind me and continued walking towards the pegasus. When she touched it the pegasus instantly awake. I expected it to start rampaging and hurt Iza so me and Jude rushed at her side. But Iza just pet the pegasus and the Pegasus nuzzled back whinnied with affection. iza started to ride it and the pegasus let her. She said to us once she got settled on top, "It's tamed now."
"But as i've said before-"i started to say but Jude cut me off, "She is the daughter of Apollo and Apollo is related to Artemis so maybe."
"Maybe." i said not entirely convinced.
Iza held out her hand for me and i took it after we're all settled Iza asked, "Everyone ready?"
I hugged her waist in reply then asked, "What about Nic?"
"We'll find her in the way." she said and even though she is the daughter of the god of prophicies i have a feeling that what she said was just a guess and it might not happen...
