Elle's POV
"Nic! You're all right!" me and Iza screamed at the same time.
"You're awake." Knife-throwing girl said.
I looked at her confused then she starts heading to Nic's direction I could've followed her if it weren't for these stupid knives. Iza on the other hand followed the girl towards Nic.
When they reached her Iza was about to hug Nic but the girl stepped in front her arms wide as if protecting Nic from Iza.
"It's okay she's my best friend." Nic assured her.
The girl didn't looked convince but she let Iza hug Nic.
"I'm so glad you're okay." Iza said crying.
"Stop crying Iza. Of course I am." Nic said then faced her to give her a smile. Iza smiled back. The girl coughed a little.
"Oh, This is Jeanne by the way she is the onw who helped me escape from the harpies that kidnapped me." she said pointing to Knife-throwing girl.
"Thank you!" Iza said, "I'm Iza."
"Hi..." she simply said.
Then i suddenly said, "Ahem! A little help here?"
They looked down at us who are still pinned at the trees. They laughed but went down to help us, soon i could move then i gave Nic a hug.
When we pulled apart Jeanne said, "Let's go in my house for a while there we could talk."
We nodded and followed her up the trees, "You live here all by yourself?"
"I have my pets." she said sounding a little offended but added, "Yes, my mother left me here with my grandmother when i was a baby. Then my grandmother passed away a few months ago. I've been leaving alone ever since."
"Don't you have any other relatives?" i asked.
"I had never known who my father is. My grandmother told me i had a twin sister. I tried looking for her but i just don't know where." she said her voice seem wounded and far away.
I wanted to say something to comfort her but all that came out, "Oh, i'm sorry."
She waved her hand dismissing the topic and we continued our climb in silence.
Soon we reached a tree house. It looks small but really could give you everything you'll need to survive.
"Please sit here, I'll check on something." she said. We sat down on the floor and she went out of the door.
We looked at each other as if asking who should go first then Iza said, "Why did you run away?"
Khinei told us what she overheard outside Chiron's office. She also told us about being attacked by monsters (i saw Iza and Nic looking at each other as if having a silent private agreement). Then she told us about Percy being injured and Hermes' visit (I feel Jude tensed up when he heard the name of his dad), the pegasus, their battle with Medusa and their plans to head at the LOTUS CASINO.
Jude asked his voice with a hint of wild curiosity, "What on earth are you gonna do there that is the lair of the lotus they will tempt you to stay there forever, it's almost impossible to escape."
I was about to ask 'how the hell he knows that' but Khinei said, "We know the dangers of the LOTUS CASINO but They said we must find Poseidon's son who is hidden there then we will know what is the next stop."
Jude didn't answer back then Percy quickly said, "How about you guys what are you doing here?"
We looked at each other they nodded and we explained our mission and quest to retrieve them i was about to tell them all our bad luck when Khinei asked worriedly, "So you're going to drag us back to camp?"
I was about to say 'yes!' but Iza got ahead of me and said, "No."
"No." Nic nodded in agreement but i said, "NO?? Why??"
"I want to help them." she said then shrugged Nic nodded and since Iza suggests it Jude agreed too and i have no choice but to agree though i have a feeling we're going to encounter more... things...
"Thank you!" Khinei said she sounds so grateful but i have a feeling something is wrong with her this whole time. Then we proceeded to telling them about the attack of the Harpies, Nic being kidnapped, and using a Pegasus to get here.
We stared at each other for a while. I didn't say this out loud but ... i have a feeling that there is a traitor around here and that traitor is ... NIC or JUDE
Jeanne's POV
After calming down my pets for they are quite persistent that they felt that someone among Nic's friends are ... bad ... i went up to check on them.
When i got in I saw that everyone is silent but when Nic saw me she said, "Jeanne, where did you went?"
"I calm down my pets for they are still pretty convince someone in here is ... bad ..." i said looking around. My eyes stopped at Iza and Elle and Jude wondering if they're the bad children my Mormo is reffering to.
"But they're all my friends." Nic said her tone worried. I didn't want to worry her anymore with my suspicions so i just said,"Yup, something might be wrong with them... Anyway care to explain ... everything?"
The girl named Khinei told me everything that happened (just like what she told Iza and the others).
I nodded thinking about it then i said more sure than i felt, "You guys stay here for the night and tomorrow we're gonna prepare for the journey."
"WE??" the pretty girl named Elle asked.
"Yup! I'm coming. This is the only chance i have to find my sister i'm not gonna waste it besides i'm not an ordinary mortal you see." I said.
"Not ordinary." Nic asked for i haven't told her this secret of mine.
I took a deep breath then told them, "I'm a demigoddess daughter of THANATOS (or Thanatus) the god or daimon of non-violent death."
