Khinei's POV
Hearing the voice of Medusa, just behind me and very near in my ear, i started to shiver but snapped my eyes closed, of course i don't want to be another one of the statues displayed here in a museum for all i care i might get frozen with a haggard look on my face.
Anyways, Medusa's hissing brought me back to reality and panic kicks in my system.
"Open your eyes my dear. It's bad manners no to look people in the eye. Besides it is such a shame to hide those beautiful of eyes of yours. Look at me. Feel the temptation to look at me." she hissed her voice very convincing i was convinced to take a peek.
No Khinei! Don't fall for temptations! a voice (that doesn't seem mine) in my head said. I instantly shut my eyes tighter but Medusa just continued tempting me her snakes wriggling in my face. One even manage to find my nose which made me shook my head vigorously.
Medusa’s laugh as if she enjoys every minute of it but she suddenly stopped for i felt something pounce at her. As much as i want to know what happened i kept my eyes shut tight.
I heard barking and Percy screaming something that i can't quite understand, then a hand touched my arm and i screamed.
"It's just me Khinei. open your eyes." Percy said.
"But Medusa..." i said my voice shaking with fear.
"She is being held back by Cerby. Now come on we must run." Percy said his voice giving me confidence.
I opened my eyes and saw a mirror in front of me. Of course i saw my reflection but in the back i saw Medusa being kept down by Cerby, i guess i owe that dog some puppy treats later for saving my life, well if there is still a later.
"Guys, come on." Jr called put from the hallway which make us start running to who knows where. Every once in a while Percy looks at the mirror checking if Medusa's running after us. After a few twists and turns we reached a dead end. I started to shiver not because of our bad luck at finding a dead end but because i felt ... something.
Too late, Percy put in my hand the mirror and pushed me away causing me to roll down on the floor. I was about to ask what the heck did he do that for when he yelled, "Close your eyes! Run!"
I knew instantly that Medusa had found us but i didn't closed my eyes (i'm kinda a risk-taker hehe) for i figured out i was well hidden behind a statue. I lifted up the mirror Percy gave me and tried to find Medusa. After a while i saw her clutching Percy and Jr's face probably forcing them to open their eyes.
I knew that if i didn't act fast Percy and Jr will soon be forced to open their eyes and if they did that they'll be turned into stone. So i looked around the room and saw a very big statue just behind them and I had a very insane idea.
"Hey Medusa! Looking for me?" i yelled as i came out of hiding. My eyes are still open but i'm not facing her instead i'm using the mirror to see what's happening. Of course Medusa is heading at my direction but luckily Percy and Jr had the sense to run sideways. So before Medusa could even reached me i sent out a zap towards the statue behind her crumbling it into pieces burying her down.
Unfortunately my leg got hit by a rock but i forced myself to head at Medusa's direction. She has her back on me and slowly stood up hissing and cursing me. Luckily she didn't turn around but she found the mirror. She lift it up examining it with awe that is until she saw me approaching from behind. Her eyes widen and she starts turning in my direction. but before she did i cut her head off.
It fell to the ground with a thud the snakes in her head still alive and hissing but her eyes are closed.
I stared down at her until i heard Jr said, "That's wickedly disgusting!"
I turned to their direction and grinned despite our near stone experience i'm a little happy with my achievement after all i did killed Medusa.
Jr and Percy high fived me, "So what are we gonna do with it?" Percy asked.
"We'll take the head with us." I said Percy and Jr groaned saying how disgusting it was but i explained that dead or alive her stoning powers could still be of-use.
Jr looked disgusted but nodded and slipped his jacket off to wrap Medusa's head in it.
I started to look around my surroundings looking for the 'thing' Hermes said that will answer my questions and the 'clue' to where we are going to proceed. I start to feel sad and angry that i didn't find anything unusual when something tackled me causing me to fall down.
I saw Cerby on top off me panting with smiles on its faces. Considering that its drooling on me I can't help but smile when i remembered how this dog saved my life i patted it on the head and said, "Thanks for saving my life drool-dog i owe you one."
I started to roll away from it when i saw that i had layed down next Medusa's body, i started to shiver then i notice something in her hand ... something that will answer most of my questions ...
