Vio's POV
"Wha-?" I knew it had been BEN, but I didn't want Violet to think that I was acquainted with him, because if she ever met the other three Links, she might let that slip, and my cover would be blown. And we do NOT want that to happen.
TIME SKIP!!!!!!!!
About 30 minutes later, Violet had my wound properly (Becka became British!!!) patched up and also showed me to the shower, so I could wash off. (or whatever. This chapter ain’t Lemon. sawwy, GD1, I’m saving that for Shadow and da reader.)
‘Nuther TIEM SKIP!!!
It was nearly twilight before I remembered that I promised to catch up with Green and the others.
I knew that it was important, but I couldn’t leave Violet and Lyra here.
I sighed, then flinched, pain once again shooting through my shoulder. Jeez. I’d have to get used to that.
At least It wasn’t my sword arm.
But that meant that I would be unable to shoot my bow for a few days. A few WEEKS even.
“Whatcha thinkin’ ‘bout?” Violet asked. She was sitting next to me, my uninjured arm around her shoulders. Ever since I met her, I’d felt extremely protective of her.
“Nothing… I just… “
“Have to go?” She asked, sadly.
“Well, yeah, but… you can come along… ‘’ I said quickly.
“What about Lyra?”
‘‘Her too.”
“But… She can’t. She’s too young.”
“It's okay. I promised I’d protect you. I’ll protect both of you.”
“Let me think about it, Vio.”
I looked out into the distance, For a few miles, all that could be seen was a plain of tall, swaying grass. And a man dressed in all black, creeping towards us.
“I don’-” but I cut her off.
“Shhh-”
“Don’t tell me t-”
“No, there’s someone watching us.”
I looked again at the man. He was dressed all in black, but it wasn’t the familiar silhouette of Shadow Link. It was someone else. It was something sinister.
“Stay back.’’ I whispered to Violet, as I drew my Four Sword.
I took a few steps toward.
“Show Yourself” I said Loudly. “I know you’re there.”
I heard the grass rustling, and I barely had time to raise my sword and deflect the man’s blow.
It was NOT Shadow.
“What do you want?!” I asked as I took a swing at him.
“Your girlfriend. Dead.”
the words cut through me like a knife.
“NO!” I yelled, and began to give it my all, but he began to overpower me.
He disarmed me, and pulled me to his chest, his blade under my chin.
“Got any last words?” He asked in a wheezy, scratchy voice.
‘‘Yes. In fact, I do. I have a few.” I said calmly. ‘BEN!!! HELP!!!’ I Thought-spoke, hoping the connection would reach him.
I was right. I heard the reply, ‘I’m here’
“Last words?!” He repeated again, now shaking me slightly.
“Oh yeah.” I smirked. “Go to hell.”
“As soon as the blade presses into my neck, It disappeared.
I saw the flicker of flames and the familiar voice said,
“You shouldn’t have done that.”
