I'll Never Let You Go

Shadow's PoV

In His Dream/ Nightmare:

 

I opened my eyes and saw (Y/N)  smiling at me. We were sitting on the edge of the cliff and holding hands.

SUddenly I felt a chill run down my spine and an eerie fog began to settle down around us, obscuring my vision.

The fog turned to thick black smoke, and began to take shape into tall, sinister silhouettes of men.

THey were all holding a weapon.

A knife.

A spear.

A sword.

I felt (Y/N) hug me, even though I couldn’t see her.

As soon as I put my arms around her, the silhouettes began closing in, pushing up further and further onto the edge of the cliff.

 

I felt my heel step into nothingness, and felt (Y/N) begin to fall.

“SHADOW!!! DON’T LET ME FALL!!!”

I tightened my grip on her and said, leaning close to her ear,

“I’ll never let you go.”

 

Then the scenery changed.

(Y/N) and I were in a field. Everything was black and white and it looked like there had just been a huge war.

Carnage was everywhere.

It was the carnage of the war between the light and dark world.

Shadows and Hyrulens alike lie dying on the grass.

 

I felt a damp, distant feeling float through the air.

Then suddenly it struck.

Misery. A deep, deep sadness filled my chest.

I fell to my knees, overwhelmed in feeling.

I heard the soft thud of (Y/N) hitting the ground next to me, and the sound of her sobs shattering the deadly silence.

 

I myself began to cry. There was nothing left to live for.

 

I fought off that feeling of sadness.

Even so, It took all my strength left to crawl over to (Y/N) and drape my arms around her shoulders.

‘I’ll never let you go.’ I said.

 

I woke up, startled.

I moved my head and found that my face was cold.

I put a hand up to my cheek.

It was wet.

My pillow was soaked with my own sweat and tears.

I flipped it over and looked over at (Y/N), sleeping peacefully next to me.

I gently wrapped my arm around her waist and put my head back down on my now dry pillow.

“I’ll never let you go.” I whispered, then I fell into a dreamless sleep.
