Gone For Good?

You woke up to the sound of a door slamming downstairs.

"Shit!!" you whisper- yelled as you realized you were still naked. "Shadow!!"

A long groaned, "Whaaaaaaat?" was all that you got out of him.

You shook his arm.

"They're back!!"

At that, Shadow's eyes snapped open. He bolted up and dove for his boxers, which had been tossed a few feet away from the bed.

In a few hurried moments you and Shadow sat down on the bed, fully dressed as soon as Ben and Vio reached the door and you heard a knock.

"Come on in!" You called, taking a stab at casual. You failed.

"And then I said, but Zelda! You're a prisoner, not my girlfriend!" Shadow said randomly, as if he had just finished a joke.

You faked a laugh, catching on with the almost embarrassed glimmer in his eyes.

You looked up at Ben, then you realized something was very, very, very wrong.

There was no pervy, mischievous gleam in Ben's dark sockets, and the glowing centers in his eyes were locked on your own eyes, not your breasts.

Vio was pacing behind him, running his hand over and over again through his thick, blonde hair, whispering something to himself indistinctly.

What more was that every time little Lyra tugged at Vio's tunic hem, he didn't pick her up and hug her... he just... ignored her.

You and Shadow instantly stood up in unison and quickly made you way over to the trio.

Shadow put his hand on Vio's shoulder while you kneeled down and began to cuddle the shaking little girl, whom, now you could see, had tears dampening her rosy cheeks.

You could now understand what Vio was whispering over and over again.

"I'm sorry... I'm so so sorry..." He said, over and over again on repeat.

"W-What happened?" You stammered, glancing up at Ben.

"i'm not totally sure..." Ben answered, a look of deep concern on his face, "But... I think we might've lost Vio for good... his psyche is... shattered."
