It was a twenty minutes ride. As I walked into what could possibly be my new office in a few days, I took it all in. The people, the buzzing of phones, the sound of various machines, and the good old smell of paperwork all around me. That's not too bad, I thought.
I spent the next 90 minutes or so discussing pretty much everything about myself with her. Towards the end of the conversation, we had finalized two job roles that could use me. One was very much related to the field my education. But the only problem it posed was that, it would require me to move all the way from California City to Manhattan in NYC. I really could not see myself doing it. The other job was right here in Cali, but it would be totally new to me.
Finally, before I left, Mrs. Manuela called the heads of the respective departments and forwarded them my resume. I thanked her for her help and was about to leave the office. That's when we noticed that it was pouring outside. This bright hot summer day had turned into a rainy day? That's odd, I thought. I left her office once the rain had reduced to a drizzle. As I drove my way back to my place, I could smell the rain on the roads, on the fresh grass and on the soil. Nothing can come close to home.
I was waiting for the 15th so badly. For my interview, for the unknown. But along with friday came a call from Mrs. Manuela, informing me that the interview had to be postponed to the 18th as Mr. Randal "Randy" Lopez was unavailable due to his routine branch visits.
"Shit man" I thought, but I wasn't too bothered. Watching the final episode of Fargo season one helped me. "Fuck! Malvo is here. Lester Nygard is so dead" my mind said. And I forgot all about this world for the next few hours.

These probably would be Angelica's favorite lines from Fargo. Anyone else missed Billy Bob Thornton's amazing portrayal of Malvo in the subsequent seasons? I still do!
