That day, as I was talking with Mr. Morton on finding a proper substitute to help me out, and in walked, the man in the white shirt. To say that he looked stunning like Zeus himself would be an understatement. Mr. Morton asked me to leave the cabin and the duo seemed to get into a deep conversation. It was almost closing time and I had promised to go out for a drink with a new friend and therefore, was hurrying up.

As I left the branch, I noticed that Kaden had also joined them in the cabin. What the hell? Something didn't seem right. Eventually, I came to know that Mr. Morton was resigning from the role of Branch Head. This had prompted Victor to necessarily drop in and check out the situation. Three more months and off he goes!

"Hey, Corbin!" I exclaimed happily at the sight of my new friend. We had met once at a local mall. Corbin was HK's friend. He introduced the two of us and later that day I had joined them for lunch. Corbin was this geeky, tech guy. So... not my type. But still, he had good features for someone as lazy as me. We talked about a lot of stuff over 2 martinis. He then suggested that we check out the food in this new place that had opened up, Nonna's.

We headed to this diner. It was a small Italian place that served hot handmade pastas. Run by a grandmother-grand daughter duo, with just 4 small tables inside a well spaced room. The decor was average but authentic. Dimly lit and surrounded with fresh roses. We chose a corner and got settled. He ordered the Bruschetta and I got my all time fav - garlic bread (duh!) with a yummylicious shrimp dip.

I ensured to finish up to the last bit of the dip, licking away from my fingertips. It was just too yumm to waste. On seeing food, I totally forgot about this handsome fella sitting on the other side of my table. To be honest, I had warned him that I was super hungry and would probably hog all the food. But even I never thought that my words would actually come true. We moved to pastas and gnocchi. And finished with ice cream. I offered to pay for my share since I didn't want to give this guy a heart attack after seeing the bill.

YUMMM

YUMMM.....One word...many emotions....

But boy, no one would've thought I'd be licking my fingers coated with this dip, in front of a guy who was practically a stranger. But, guess what? I didn't care. Well, at that time. I basically facepalmed when I got back home that night.

Corbin walked me to my place. We had a good time. He was funny and witty. Not to mention, nerdy. Discussing about comics, TV shows and movies made our conversation an infinitely long one. Finally we bid goodbye.

"Should I kiss him?" I questioned myself.

And as though he actually heard me, Corbin stepped towards me. He was of quite average height, and I looked him in the eye, as he stood mere inches away from me.

"Oh... he's gonna lean in!" I thought. "Should I help him though?"

But before my mind made up a decision, my body leaned and placed my lips on him. He reciprocated. It was short. But sweet. As we finished, we bid goodnight and I turned around.

Back in my bed, as I closed my eyes, I didn't think about the kiss. But rather, about someone else.

"Fuck!" I cried and burried my face into the pillow.

Why the hell am I thinking of Victor, everytime I think about the kiss? I hated my mind for constantly serving as a reminder of his face. That devilishly handsome, one of a kind face belonging to that man. No wait. Belonging to that angel. Or perhaps, a God.

If only Victor knew what Angelica was going through
