-Confession-

Stepping out of your house and into the streets of Jackson, you were met with a bitter and cold breeze. You shivered and pulled your jacket closer to your body, hoping the thinning fabric would provide some warmth to your shuddering body.

As you made your way to the stables you were greeted by the kind old soul of Joel. You sent him a small smile "Good Morning, Joel." you greeted, watching as the older man sent you a nod as he took a sip of his coffee "Good mornin', y/n. You're up early."

You nodded and sighed, readjusting the straps of your backpack "Maria want's me to go out and scavenge some supplies." "Well, you better be safe out there. You aren't goin' alone are ya?."

You smiled and shook your head "Jesse,Ellie and Dina are coming along. We'll be safe, I promise, old man."

He chuckles at the nickname and makes his way to walk pass you, gently patting your shoulder as he does "Be careful, kiddo." you nodded and said your goodbye before making your way over to the stables again.

After setting your horse up for travel and loading your guns, you make your way over to the front gates.

"There she is, bought time."

You rolled your eyes and lightly nudged Jesse's shoulder with yours causing him to chuckle "This is the first time I'm late. It's Ellie who you should be talking to."

At the mention of her name Ellie pulls her attention away from shimmer and over to you "I may always be late but I wasn't this time." "But you almost were. You got here like two minutes before, n/n."

"No I didn't!." "Yeah you did." 

Jesse and Ellie begin to go back in forth in a battle of who's right and who's wrong while you and Dina just stand idly to the side,waiting for their childish dispute to end. 

The entire time they were fighting you couldn't seem to take your eyes off the brunette, you traced all her beautiful features with your eyes, not  a single scar or freckle going unnoticed.

"You're staring." 

Breaking out of your trance you turn to Dina, face painted a light red as you blush from being caught.

With a clear of your throat and a shake of your head you climb onto your horse and grab the reigns "I wasn't doing anything, simply just watching them fight it out." Dina hums and nods, knowing that you were just using an excuse to hide what you were actually doing.

"Sure, we'll go with that." 

Climbing atop her horse Dina turns to Jesse and Ellie "Okay you two cut it out. We should get going other wise Maria will be on our asses."

With a sigh and a playful glare towards Jesse, Ellie gets onto her horse and Jesse follows. When everyone is situated you all ride out, making your way away from Jackson County and into the overgrown forest.

"Nothing in here." you spoke, sighing in defeat as you step outside of the room you were searching.

"Nothing in here either." Ellie steps out of her room and sighs heavily "Let's keep looking." you nodded and followed behind Ellie as she entered a different building.
