A calm breeze blew through the air, gently running through your slightly tousled hair as you road next to Ellie on your horse.

The two of you were sent out on a patrol today, and you were quite happy about it. It was nice out, the sun was shining the breeze was cool and the sky was a bright blue.

"Next stop should be another mile or two." Ellie commented, eyes scanning the map she held in her hand. You nodded and closed your eyes, taking in the warm sunlight and listening to natures natural sounds.

You felt so relaxed; more relaxed then you have in a long while. 

Ellie turned to look at you, a smile pressed to her lips as she took in how calm you truly seemed, but of course, being the jokester she is, she had to mess with you.

Quietly, she motioned shimmer towards you and raised her hands in the air, quickly but gently placing them around your arms.

"Y/n!" she shouted in your ear.

You jumped with fright and went to grab for your knife, but stopped when you heard Ellie's laughter.

"El!" you whine, placing a hand over your quick,beating heart.

Her laughter seemed to calm down after a few minutes and she looked to you, her smile turning into a small sympathetic pout when she saw just how frightened you looked.

She chuckled and tugged on Shimmers reigns, stopping her from moving forward. She takes the reigns from your horse and tugs them to stop as well, before taking a hold of your hand.

"I'm sorry, babe. It was all in good fun!"

Your facial expression stays stoic as you stare at her, and soon enough her small sympathetic smile, turns to a frown.

"You're not mad at me, are you?" she question, voice filled with worry.

You stay stoic for a few more seconds before bursting out into laughter "I'm not mad El, it's all good. I just wanted to see your reaction." she pouts and you mimic her facial expression.

She laughs and rests a hand on your cheek, gently tugging you forward to press a small kiss to your lips. You smile into the kiss and pull back slightly, pressing one more peck to her lips before completely pulling back and grabbing onto your horses reigns.

"Okay, baby, we really need to get going. There's a reason Maria doesn't like us patrolling together and thats because we barely get shit done." you giggle at Ellie's pout before whipping the reigns of your horse, telling them to break into a trot.

Ellie and shimmer follow behind you, Ellie taking your hand as your horses trotted close to one another.

"We still get shit done, though." Ellie shrugs, a smile etched on her face. You grin and lean over pressing a quick kiss to her lips before turning forward and giving her hand a gentle squeeze.

"Some how." you mutter, chuckling when Ellie gently slaps your shoulder.

"Alright, lets check these buildings." 

You nod and pull h/n to stop, carefully dismounting them so you could lead them next to Shimmer and Ellie.
