For a large majority of your life, you've felt extremely insecure. You've never found mirrors as a friend...more of an enemy. You despised looking into the mirror, you despised looking at yourself, and though the world had gone to complete shit, you still carried those insecurities.
Mirrors were still labeled as your enemies and insecurities still flooded your mind.
You had managed to break away from those insecurities when you had first met Ellie. When you had first arrived at Jackson, Ellie was one of many people who approached you. You had caught her eye, your beautiful smile, eyes, laugh....Everything about you was beautiful to her, but you never felt beautiful.
Though her compliments about how beautiful you were, were heartwarming and extremely adorable, you could never find yourself completely believing her.
She couldn't find you as beautiful...its impossible....isn't it?

The small jingle of keys filtered through the house as the front door was unlocked, an all too familiar brunette stepping into the house and shutting the door behind her with a soft click.
Its been a long day for Ellie. She had left extremely early that morning for an emergency patrol and she was just now getting home, the time being a quarter passed one a.m.
She yawned loudly, completely exhausted and ready for bed. She wanted nothing more than to sleep and hold you in her arms, its what shes been thinking about all day.
With another yawn falling from her slightly chapped lips, she sluggishly made her way down the hall, her eyes falling half lidded and even sometimes closing as she stumbled down the dark hallway.
She was so tired that she felt like she could possibly fall asleep right then and there, but a wave of energy washed over her when she heard quiet sobbing and sniffling.
She was confused. She had imagined you to already be fast asleep, why were you awake? Why were you...crying?
Moving quickly, Ellie made her way down the hall, legs leading her right to your shared bedroom where she spotted you hunched over on the bed, tears streaming down your face as sobs slipped past your lips, your body trembling with each cry.
"Y/n? Babe what happened?"
She quickly crossed the room, sitting on the bed and pulling you into her arms once she was close enough. You shook your head, too distraught to reply to her as you let yourself fall into her embrace.
"Hey, hey shh. It's okay, I'm here now, you're okay babe."
She slowly rocks you as you lay your head on her shoulder, your tears soaking the fabric of her jacket as her hand gently rubbed your back.
"It's okay, y/n. You're okay."
She continues to whisper sweet nothings in your ears, slowly pulling you back into reality. You take deep breaths and close your eyes, taking in the comforting warmth that engulfs your body from Ellie's embrace.
"You okay, babe?"
She gently cups your cheek, thumb brushing over your cheekbone as she stares at you.
You nod slowly, a heavy sigh falling from your lips as your eyes open, connecting with Ellie's. She smiles down at you and leans forward, pressing her lips to your forehead softly as her thumb continues to gently caress your cheek.
"Whats going on? Why were you crying, babe?"
Your gaze falls from her eyes, landing on your hands as you nervously play with your fingers.
"You can do so much better than me." you whisper, voice breaking as tears fill your eyes once more.
"I'm so pathetic a-and ugly and you could do so much better than me. You could have D-Dina o-or Cat..."
Ellie is stunned by your words, but shes quick to comfort you. Her hands raise to cup your face, lifting your gaze from your hands to her eyes.
"Baby, no. You're so beautiful y/n! And you're not pathetic, baby your admirable! You're stunning, every part of you."
Her thumbs brush along you skin, her gaze filled with love as she stared into your eyes.
"And I don't want Dina or Cat, y/n. I want you. I love you. Not Dina, not Cat. No one else but you. You are the one I want, you are beautiful, caring, loving. You're you and I love everything about you."
She leans forward, hands moving to your sides allowing her to kiss your cheeks.
"You're beautiful, baby. Don't ever say anything else." she mutters against your skin, making your heart flutter within your chest and butterflies to swarm within your stomach.
"I don't deserve you." you whisper as she leans her forehead on yours.
She shakes her head and leans forward, lips pressing to yours softly.
"You're right. You don't deserve me. . .You deserve the world." she whispers.
You chuckle and slap her shoulder, sniffling slightly as she leans back to look you in the eyes.
"You okay now? Feel better, beautiful girl?"
You nod and smile widely at her. She mirrors your smile and lays down on the bed, arms open for you to crawl in.
"Good, now come on! I've missed you all day and I'm way over due for my daily n/n cuddles!"
She pouts causing you to laugh. You shake your head as you go to lay next to her, resting your head upon her chest as her arms circle your waist.
"I love you , Ellie. Thank you."
The brunette smiles and tugs you closer, rubbing your back and kissing the top of your head as her eyes fall shut.
"Anything for you, my beautiful girl. Anything at all."
