A heavy sigh rushed passed your lips and a frown was painted across your face as you watched Ellie leave the house.
She hadn't even said goodbye or I love you. You didn't hear a single word from her, not even a single 'Happy Birthday!'. She just stood from the bed, got dressed and headed out for the day, not even sparing you a glance or turning your way when you said good morning.
It was upsetting for sure. For the passed three years of you and Ellie being in a relationship, she had never forgotten a single date. She didn't forget the day she asked you out, she didn't forget the day you met, and she never ever forgot your birthday.
But this year seemed to be different. It seemed as though she didn't care about todays date, as if it wasn't an important day at all.
With a sad sigh you stood from the bedrooms windowsill and went to the closet to grab some everyday clothes.
Once you were dressed and ready to go, you grabbed your house keys and stepped out. If Ellie wasn't going to pay you any mind, you were sure your favorite care taker would.
Making your way down Jackson's streets, you greeted everyone you passed. But you would only gain silence in response, not even a single hello.
You were so confused, had you done something to make everyone ignore you?.
Taking a deep breath, you shake off everyone's weird moods and continue towards Joel's house. When you arrive at the familiar house, you knock on the door and wait for the older man to open the it, but her never does.
It's not like he's not home, you can hear the tune of his guitar coming from inside, and you can perfectly see him through the slightly dusted window.
"Joel!" you call out, hoping that he was just too lost in his music to hear your knocking. But as you continue to call his name, and get no reply, you know he's just ignoring you.
"What the hell did I do?" you question yourself as you step off of Joel's porch.
With a sad sigh you walk down the street towards Dina and Jesse's house. If anyone was going to talk and say happy birthday to you, it would be your two best friends.
Coming up to their house, you knocked on their door and waited for them to answer. And thankfully they did, but it didn't seem like they were expecting you to be the one to knock.
"Hey, El you ready-" Dina stops mid sentence, smile dropping when she noticed it was you "Oh, hey, n/n." you smiled sheepishly and waved at the shorter girl "Hey, Dina. Uh, I was wondering if we could hangout?" Dina looks from you then back into the house, before shaking her head as her gaze lands back on you.
"Sorry, but Jesse and I already have plans with Ellie today."
Your smile turns to a pout "But-" you don't even get to finish your sentence as Dina shuts the door on your face. Your pout tugs into a long frown and your shoulders droop with sadness.
Why was everyone ignoring you?.
With a shake of your head you step away from Dina's house and make your way to the stables. When you arrive to your horses stable, you set up your saddle and take its reins, gently tugging it towards the gate where you could easily climb onto it.
