-You're tired-

Your entire body ached with each step you took and your eyes fell half lidded. You had just gotten back to Jackson after a 10 hour shift on look out duty. You would have been fine and full of energy if it wasn't for the 3 hour long scavenge you had to do in the morning, so to say you were tired was an understatement; you were fucking exhausted.

You practically dragged your feet as you walked to your house, counting every second it took until you could finally reach your bed.

And soon enough, after what felt like an eternity of walking, you finally made it home. Reaching into your pocket you retrieve your house key and unlock the door. When you finally step inside you close the door behind you and rest your head against it, taking deep,calming breaths.

After a few seconds you step away from the door and step out of your shoes, leaving them by the front door along with your jacket before you start your trek into the bedroom.

As soon as you enter the room you plop down directly onto the bed, a sigh of relief falling past your lips as you relish in the comforting feeling of the soft mattress below you. You're already feeling relaxed enough to fall asleep, so as your eyes close you allow yourself to fall asleep, only to jump awake at the sound of your bathroom door opening.

Jumping up from your laying position you look over to the bathroom and spot your green eyed girlfriend. She sends a smile your way and trails over to her side of the bed, laying next to you and allowing you to cuddle into her side.

"You scared the shit outta me, El." you mutter as you position your ear over her heart. Ellie just chuckles and wraps an arm around you, apologizing for scaring you as she grabs onto one of her comic books beside the bed.

"I thought you had a late scavenge with Joel tonight?."

Ellie nods "I did, but Tommy took my place. He knew that you had a long day and suggested that I should be here for you rather then out on a scavenge." you smiled sleepily and curled  further into Ellie's embrace.

"Tommy's such a sweetheart. I'll definitely have to thank him for letting you stay then." Ellie nods and starts to gently trail her fingers along your side, slowly coaxing you into sleep, but you started to fight it now, no longer wanting to be asleep since Ellie was by your side.

Ellie glances down to you, a small smile tugging on her lips as she saw you fight back sleep.

"Babe, go to sleep. I can tell you're exhausted."

You whine and shake your head "I don't want to." "Why not?. I could tell you were about to pass out when I came out of the bathroom."

You sigh and let your eyes close as Ellie lets your hair out of the small,messy bun you had it in so she could run her fingers gently through the tangled strands.

"We haven't had a lot of time together lately. I just wanna spend some time with you."

Ellie smiles and internally aw's at your adorable clingy antics. You were right, the both of you had been rather busy lately and the only time you were able to see one another was before bed and in the morning before you left for your jobs, but she didn't want you to not sleep because of that.

"I know we haven't had a lot of time together, but we're both free tomorrow and the day after. We'll hangout then, but you need to sleep now."

Opening your eyes, you look up to Ellie. She sends you an assuring smile and presses a kiss to your forehead "Go to sleep, babe." you nod and close your eyes, no longer able to keep them open as your eyelids felt like they were being weighed down by anvils.

With the last bit of energy you had left, you leaned forward a pressed a kiss to Ellie's collar bone mumbling out an 'I love you' before falling into a light sleep.

Ellie smiled a gazed down at you lovingly.

"Goodnight, y/n. Sleep well, I'll be right here when you wake up. I love you too."
