The heavy poor of rain and the racing beat of your heart echoed in your ears. You sprinted through the abandoned park, occasionally glancing over your shoulder at the group of seraphites that continued to chase after you.
Bullets and arrows flew past you as you ran, the whistle of them passing just by your ear becoming an all too familiar noise now.
You panted, lungs burning as you continued to run, your legs begging for you to stop but your mind pleading for you to keep going. You continued to run regardless of how exhausted you felt, and it wasn't until you ran into a seraphite when you stopped running.
With a thud, you fell to the muddy floor, struggling against the seraphites grasp.
"Get off!." you shouted, thrashing side to side.
The seraphite doesn't say a word, they just continue to hold you in their arms, grip so tight you were sure it would leave a mark. As you continued to thrash from side to side you could hear the others getting closer.
With the last bit of your strength you pull your arm away from the seraphite and elbow them right in the face, causing them to stagger backwards while holding their now bleeding nose.
Now that you were no longer being held down, you stood from the muddy ground and resumed your sprint. Like before, bullets and arrows whizzed past you and only one managing to clip your side causing you to cry out in pain.
You stumble to the ground and hold your wound. You wince and curse under your breath as you tried your best to take deep breaths. Your lungs continued to burn, and your breathing was labored as you held onto your wounded side.
Glancing over your shoulder you could see that the seraphites were gaining on you. If you were going to get out of this alive, you needed to go. Taking one last deep breath, you stand with a groan of pain. Once on your feet again you continue your escape.
Just up ahead, possibly another mile or two, stood large buildings. You were sure you could lose the others in there, so doing the best you could, you made your way over to them.
By the time you reached the tall buildings, the seraphites were long gone. You took this time to stop and breathe.
Leaning onto the outside of one building you close your eyes and slide down the wall. Your breathing is heavily labored and uneven as you hold onto your bloodied side. You barely managed to catch your breath when the sound of a bottle being broken came from inside the building.
Your eyes flashed open and your head snapped towards the sound. You stayed quiet and stood up, silently walking over to the buildings door.
You needed to be sure you were safe, you needed to know if that noise was a seraphite, an infected, or the girl the other WLF's had been talking about. Either way, if you had run into any of them, you would surely be dead.
You had no source of protection on you. All your weapons had been taken from you when Isaac ordered for you to be killed.
Being as careful and quiet as you could, you stepped into the dark building. Your automatic flashlight flicked on and your eyes scanned the room. It was littered with bits and pieces of trash, as well as some fallen pieces of tile and wood.
